...cos we nearly weren't! After doing the frankly ludicrous speed of 70mph up the M1 in the Mazda, suddenly the windscreen was filled with yellow water and steam! Oh noooooo! Turns out it just doesn't like to go above 60. Refilled the rad and away we went, after a grilling from the plod... for some reason two blokes sat in deckchairs beside the dodgiest looking motor around attracted their attention.... I don't think it liked doing the donut in the carpark either.... it was a bit stuttery for a while afterwards ;D Hope you all got safely home!

The Nymphs speedo dosent work and tells me I'm doing 30mph when I'm parked ;D The front wheels are out of balance so i know when I'm doing 60. Also running rich and the clutch squeels when i first pull away. Apart from that all in one piece. ;D

Yeah no worries here. Although I started to worry when Chris booted the Marina up to a frankly ridiculous 80+ mph on the bypass back into Bedford. That was "taking it easy", apparently. Nutter of the highest order.

Started getting some quite serious brake judder in the Volvo V70 about 20 miles from home. Out to investigate in the morning, and then off to the dealer I think! Probably wasn't helped by being cut up by a fiesta doing 50mph whilst travelling at *** on the A34!

The imp behaved very well, i could not get my temperature to budge, i did 70mph all the way home (5000rpm). In the imp its like going through the sound barrier for some reason, its all hectic up to 65mph, then everything goes smooth and quiet at 70, very strange!
Its using a bit of oil, but i think that its just all the leaks, does mean my oil is always clean!

Back... with no problems other than the severe weather-beating that 60mph in an open-topped Trekker gives ;D

J Yeah. It's wierd, but they go strangely serene over about 65 mph! Not sure my Chamois will, though, with its lowered 3rd and 4th transaxle... Glad your car went well, James. Nice work! I'm

It picks up nicely from 50-ish, suprised me,.. and the Mk1 Astra driver who was playing silly buggers in the outside lane

Yep, no worries here ! There and back no worries.. joined the m1 at about 90mph and spent most of the journey exceeding that, despite discussing taking things " delicately " on the way back...... Also discovered 1300 mk 1 golfs eat petrol like no tomorrow when subjected to prolonged high speeds...

Hytesta (Polo G40) and I had a comfy journey back, traffic kept our speed down most of the time...there were a couple of fun moments though. For some reason the Cressida has almost no pull from 50mph, but flies from 70! The G40 sounds sweet through tunnels too! ;D

Excellent journey home. The ZS performed flawlessly both ways. Got heavily lost around Northampton trying to get to Daventry. NO signs. Why? Great blast down the 319 (?) home in convoy with my mate Stu's Honda Bros 600 (bike). He loved the show, laughed his t**s off at our cars. He's a bit of a US Rat rod fan and loved the interpretation applied to the mazda wagons! Strangely th eroad from Burford to Cirencester was empty (and twisty) and I know it like the back of my hand so Stu was gone...and then surprised to see a blue ZS in his mirrors at waaaaaay over the ton! oops
Stuck £30 of juice in in the morning. Still got quarter of a tank left. Not bad.
How long till next year?
