Quick question, I'm guessing only real VW fans will know the answer.
My 1986 Audi 100 with a carbed 4 cyl VW engine (read Golf) has a Bosch distributor, the type with the 3 pin electrical socket and the vaccuum advance/retard thing on the side. The dizzy in question is in bits and beyond use.
Ive bought a ducellier dizzy from a G reg audi 80 1800cc carb. Its got the same 3 pin socket and vaccuum device on the side but the rotor arm and cap are different to the Bosch items plus the dizzy looks slightly different although it fits my engine perfectly and everything plugs in.
Does anybody know if theres any problem with using the Ducellier dizzy in place of the Bosch one? do they use the same type of ignition system?
I would just whack it on to see if it works or not but the engine is in bits!
