Your cars the best judgement when it's low enough my friend, it will refuse to move. Angel is that the bar in yarmouth, tell me more, where in sunny low are you and who's the guy with the Yellow Hillman estate with boxed arches I keep seeing in Asda. Had a couple of Marina coupes in the past, good fun in the wet Mick, the Angel is a monthly meet near Snetterton that I always go to. Next one is next Weds (3rd Dec). Nick keeps meaning to come along too. The winter meets tend to be turn up in anything, sit by open fire, drink ale, talk cars. Summer meets are in a field next to the pub and a chance to show off our rides. Gimmie a shout if you fancy coming to the next one. In Norwich doing my PMA (Prevention management of Agression) refresher next week and if I'm not knackered i may well come, let you know, hows that knew Merc?

I'm just off Elm Tree Road.... you'll see the car in the drive or my GT round me mam's (or my boy's Metro there too!). Usually open for a chat and tea (or coffee)...

Guess i will have to wait for ever for a pair of cheap Hella De's to turn up so i rekon the best thing i can do is make the next best thing myself, plus I'm bored not being able to play with my car until the weather gets better and the nights longer. Bought a pair of BMW 320 front lights for £20 hoping i could adapt them to fit but due to the offset between the high and low beem units it's not going to be that straight forward. Plan now is to cut each BMW mounting braket in half a trim off what i don't need and mount the lights in cut up Passat mounting and all this i can do in the comfort of my house, well when the woman is out.

What do you rekon to my new steering wheel apart from it's going to freeze my mits off. Mate of mine bought this in the early 90's it a German Car Company copy of a Thump Thump steering wheel. My mate took it of his bug and chucked in his garage befor passing it on to another mate and at the weekend it came in to my possession free of charge, big thanks to you Chris. The wheel uses a Momo boss and as you can see from the first picture its not of the best quality, at least its perfectly round but the design is not symmetrical to say the least. Today being my day off I made a template up then attacked it with the grinder and then a file, just needs fine fettering and the edges polished but I'm going to wait until I can get in to town to get an attachment for the drill. Kind of think it's going to give me some inspiration to change the dash about as if I haven't enough to do This is how it looks now, getting there I think Applied for another job the other day it means ill be working 9 til 5 and weekends off, sometimes i wonder if I'm doing the right thing so nice having the house to yourself to play

Wow.. loving all the work you've put into this! The bench seat, 2 door van conversion and headlamp set up tick all the right boxes, while the teledials just finish it off. Nice work! Keep it up Rich

Came back from Worthersee all fire up. Body kit had to go but it's not as straight forward as you think. Easy way would have been to bridge the top and the bottom of the recess where the side trim bits fit making the sides more or less flat. Didn't want that so some strips of steel were cut and welded in to the sides of the doors where the recess is greater. rest of the trim holes where welded and the wing and rear arches cut and pulled to meet the rest of the arches better. Just as well i had my trusty friend Nick (Nick in the barn) at hand and some spare space in his work shop, Thanks Nick and it was good to get my hands on your welder even if i did slow downs a tad whist at the door handle were junked and the drivers door is now opened by a solenoid Still needs a lot of work to get it nice and straight, time and weather my only hold backs. Did take some pics on another camera at the welding stage but i can't get them to upload but will try again at some point. nieghbours love me with all the dust lol

Excellent! Good to see this is still progressing; nice job on the split tailgate - does the lower section open all the way though? I know what you mean about the paint, it does look good, but imagine how much better it would be if it was arrow-straight and shiny!

Joe Getting it arrow straight is going to be the hard bit as this car has had so much welding. There's not a huge amount of filler in it as it is but i do know what you mean and it would look simply awesome. Keep telling the Mrs is i get it painted sooner rather than later you will see more of me as I won't spend so much time on it as i wont be able to chop it about and in the long run it would also be cost effective, then there's the interior to do
