Towing dolly for sale. Selling cos I've got an A-frame which I prefer to use and which takles up less space in the garage. This dolly is an articulated one, not a rigid, and tows very well indeed. It allows one person to recover old bangers they have bought off ebay with minimal hassle. I am selling it 'complete' with ramps, trailer board, extension cable, winch, spare wheel plus an extra spare tyre (both brand new) and ratchet straps - basically absolutley everything required to shift old motors safely and single-handedly.
it folds up to help you store it:
'What can it tow m8'? Well the biggest thing I have had on it is a Senator. Its very strong and is limited really by a) the ability/weight of the towing vehicle and b) the tyres that are on it - they are rated to about 250kg each, meaning that with those tyres you're limited to about a 1 ton car. If you wanted to tow something heavier over a long distance then i would suggest fitting 6-ply tyres to it, which are available and cost about £25 each as opposed to the tenner each of the ordinary ones.
Note: It is unbraked, meaning that it falls into that legal grey zone whereby no-one, not even the rozzers themselves, knows the letter of the law regarding its use. What I can say is I have used it for loads of towing jobs, often over 100's of miles and never had the slightest bother off any coppers, even french ones, where dollys are defo not supposed to be used. It looks the part when your car is lashed down on it with the trailer board etc which helps. The fact that its unbraked means basically you need to keep your towed car weight to less than about 85-90% of the towing car weight and stick to about 55-60mph, otherwise you're pushing your luck a bit really. If you use it with common sense it is perfectly safe regardless of the legal detail.
I'm looking for £225, which is less than these things go for on the bay, though thats where it'll end up if I don't get a sale on here. It can be collected from Crewe or Peterborough, or i could bring it to somewhere in between on a Friday evening, call/PM me before opting to do that though. my number is O78OO 9O2396 or drop me a PM.
Cheers RR
