right okay, so ive had a wake up call today... all the welding youve seen me do on the other pages is going to be removed. ive only ever learnt to do MOT weld, now it is solid but its not going to last. so I'm going to cut it out and do it again. not all doom and gloom, ive learnt from it. i plan on keeping the car for a long time and i don't want to be plating the poor thing up every MOT. anyway pics. Repair on jacking box now i can see it from underneath the jacking point on the other side is good, but the inner sill around it wants repairing properly also found another new dodgy repair on the inner arch on the passengers side. rear 1/4 repair i was never happy with a small bit that i noticed on the x member and the bottom of the wing which was abit sad to find. on the plus side the floor is perfect and some more shiney bits Cheers

Nice job, it realy is a headache to put right bodges, think i'm right weren't these the last 2WD car to win the world rally championship even going up against the 4WD audi quatro, and it was awarded European car of the year when it was launched?

You're probably thinking of the Horizon which won Car Of The Year in 1979, and the last RWD car to win the WRC was the Opel Ascona 400 with Walther Röhrl in 1982

woop had a good hit on the underside today finished cleaning all of old waxoyl from underneath, i then cleaned up some scabby bits with the grinder, nothing serious then hit it with some brushable primer and welded up 2 holes where for some reason the seat had been moved futher forward, but wasnt strengthened in any way odd, but gone now! Also brought a tarpaulin to cover up my work

well, shes back on her wheels, it aint half weird to see it as a car again thats for sure, built all my shiney bits back up and fitted them, cwarrr! and here she is wearing rs2000 wheels, not mine and no there not for sale! looking for a set of 6 or 7j minilites needing a refurb or something, need something nice and wide to fit under those arches. have a pic of her looking like a car again

Looking good, starting to come together, and the underside looks much better. What's next?

the whole point of putting it back together is to get it into the garage, but while its down on its wheels i need to weld a plate into the boot floor going to try and paint under the bonnet too. then when the garage is empty, she will go in there, jacking point will be fitted, along with sills and wide arches oh yeh

This is coming along nicely - the rims are going to make it. What's the deal with the MK2 'tina?

have a teaser pics with the arches mocked up. yeh the arches are fibreglass group 4 copys, they arent too bad actually will need a bit of fettiling but should look good when on and the wheels are 13 by 7s on 185/60/13s the mk2 tina was brought for parts, its beyond shot, the engine is the only good thing in it, will get round to breaking it one day
