After experiencing the thrill of heaters when I bought a VW vimto a few months ago to save my VW type 3 and Type 2 from daily duties through the winter I decided I would be happier if Joanne (SWMBO) had something a bit more modern than her 1967 Beetle for the winter. Given that the bonnet on her bug just got re-sprayed I figured I could get a runaround for less than a new bonnet and paint and the heated front and rear screens I was going to get her.
So I have been looking for a few weeks at MK 3 and 4 polo's when on Tuesday night I happened to look on the adtrader website.
Listed that day was a polo for much cheapness so gave it a call, went and saw it Wednesday and drove it home Thursday;
Nothing special but at least its retro and VW;
It is meant to be red, not pink but once weather is better I will cut the paint. Has a small rub on the rear 1/4 where the PO clipped her gate but has only done 56000 miles and is solid as a rock so heres hoping Joanne gets a few months pain free motoring out of it.
Thats us got ;
1970 VW type 3 fastback,
1973 VW type 2 camper
1967 VW beetle
1991 VW polo
1995 VW Vento
1960 Ford F100 pick up.
Not bad for 2 people living in a flat with restricted parking ;D
