I'm hopefully going to be modifying the interweb soon too. In a bout of (probably over) enthusiasm last week I bought www.easypcd.co.uk. I've never done it before either.

Try Serif's WebPlus sofware, WP10 should be available for about from them direct for about £20 or let me know as I think that I have a copy kicking around here somewhere... I used to work there and got free software ;D
It is really simple to use and is very WYSIWYG - you can do some good sites with it.

If you want point and click simplicity, you have trouble finding anything to beat www.webeden.net. Online interface and has the added bonus of producing the final pages in Flash. If you want to do it yourself then I can recommend www.nvu.com Almost as good as Dreamweaver (IMHO) but completely free! Then there is always good old notepad ........

Thanks for advice chaps. Have to say Pogs method looks simplest as there's no techy speak there. Though on talking with the lady of the house it seems I may be able to do something with some software we already have. I'll have to ave a play. Ta!

you can do it in Microsoft Word believe it or not! Have a look in the help section in it.
I use Dreamweaver but am relatively well versed... i can do it all in notepad but there's no need to these days.

Online interface and has the added bonus of producing the final pages in Flash. You are of course joking!! There are any number of build your own online sites. YMMV on any one so have a look at how each one works and any features on offer. Dreamweaver is a big old gal of an app, with quite a learning curve but simpler apps are out there. I like Freeway on the mac and even iWeb is OK. You should have a decent iWeb site up and running within an hour. It does generate some really shoddy code though!

Might be worth looking into one of the blog apps, if a blog style would suit whatcha want to do, or one of the sites where you can start and run your own blog. That way you don't have to worry about code, browser compatibility etc, and just concentrate on words & pics.
