;D I've done it again, brought another car to the household... and I still live! I'm sure most of you know where this came from, a nice 7am start and return by 3pm not too bad at all with great thank to me mate Sasky for providing the tow car. Well I've no pictures of it at home but this was half way home, lots of parts which all fit this motor apparently. The wife didn't say much when i got back, well not to me anyway. So the plan is as follows, it's booked in the garage for monday to have some work in order to pass an MOT, plan it to be on the road for january and tidy it up as I go along using it for the next year, just waiting on being able to get hold of a new rad. All donations accepted to the cause. my herald in now on hold till this is on the road, just need to clear some drive space...

I was sorely tempted by this but going back up to three Sapporos was too much with everything else I've got on the go as well ;D glad it's still in the RR fold though. What are your plans for it now you've had a few days to look it over?

Plans consist of MOT, lowering, new wheels and then a re-spray in Artic white. after that I'll just see how it goes really.
on the cards may be an engine swap but see how things run.

Well I'll just pull this back from page 12...
A bit of an update, been progressing this slowly while waiting for parts to arrive ect and now after a good service, oil flush she became a runner, but then started to pee water out the rad (Suspected samage during transport) so a new one was duly ordered and fitted but with no oil cooler built in but it's a nice new unit and I plan to fit a better oil cooler in front anyway, got it at last but as yet not fitted. inner wings have been rust protected and painted a nice black just waiting for the outer wings to arrive (Should be this Sat cheers chris / chris's dad)
New glass was fitted in this weekend, looks much better without a crack in it and a nice black edge, unfortunatly the edge clips could not be saved so I've got to find a way to attach the chrome edging yet.
Tyres were thanks to MartinC on here they will be on the wheels after they are refurbed this week and a full MOT pre check has been done so all being well a quick repair to the exhaust and once the wings are fitted it'll all be tip top draw MOT wise, looking to tax and be on the road for the 1st Feb for the Staffordshire meet as it's first run out.
I'll try to get pics later but it's a touch dark, see what they look like if not once the wings are sorted on sat I'll get some nice pics up. hope to give this a checkered board roof as well so watch this space....

Spent most of last night cutting out fablon squares to sort the roof out with, if it looks good i'll leave the squares on and get it sprayed then peal the squares off after.
Better news still wings will be with me on sat afternoon thanks to chri's dad so once their on it'll be heading for the MOT station. plan to give it a wash and polish and get some pics for you all at the weekend of the fully built up car. Exciting for me... ..

Ignored the rear pannel currently just rust protected it until i have some more time, doors are being finished at the moment be a friend out of work... and they say the credit crunch is all bad... should be going to the RR meet at Stone 1st feb then into the garage for the last of the work ie boot / suspension / general engine bay tidy up before sorting out the re-spray, just need a few things to sell to raise the free money.

MOT - Err well, not good!
Fired her up to move ready to go for MOT, rear silencer decided not to remain attached! So in for the MOT anyhow and the expected fail but not too bad, 1 - Rear exhaust 2 - rear handbrake little or no effect (new cable needed) 3 - front lower ball joint excessive play 4 - emissions, unable to test due to exhaust leak
So all being well re-test early next week and tax on 1st Feb!

Gutted, but still, for a car that has been in a garage for 7 years that's not bad going!

That's quite a small list tbh Not saying that it doesn't need a hand brake cable but, have a look at the centre linkage (Blue) and clean, grease as required and look at the handbrake linkage on the caliper itself, if water has found it's way inside the rubber cover it's likly to be a sticky brown mess, a carefull strip, clean and refit will get it all working again. either way the handbrake cable has to be removed which will possibly result in braking the two mounting bolts at either side (red), plenty of penetrating fluid over a couple of days will really help here

^^ Ah cheers for that one, was the cable tho, the inner sleave has rusted and jammed the inner a few hours work got it sorted tho! The exhaust has been patched for now as i'll be changing the lot in time anyway which will of hopfully delt with the emissions and it's having the ball joint done in the garage (time constraints) so re-test soon.... oh and while it was in bit I took the effort to give the wheels a quick coat of paint to tidy / protect them a bit until suitable replacements / refurb is sorted, After / Before So fingers crossed...
