Something is spoiling my enjoyment of the RR Youtube thread . The videos start to buffer, then about halfway through the buffering will stop and the vid will play up until that point. Then it'll not buffer any more. Sometimes I can jolt it into buffering more by moving the slider past the buffered part (and skipping a few seconds). But it'll never buffer the whole video. I'm not talking entire films here, it'll do it on a 2 minute clip. It is enfuriating. I updated the Java nonsense but that had little effect. My broadband is reasonably fast, no connection issues there. I'm using FireFox if that makes a difference. Can anyone help, before there are little bits of laptop all over the floor?

All down to the network baby! Wireless I assume? Will always be quicker plugged into the router.
Unfortunately, the only thing I would suggest is a: patience, b: faster broadband or c: bring it round to my place for some tlc.

It is wireless, yes! My PC upstairs is worse, it's like dial-up all over again! ;D That's cos I'm far away from the router though. Thanks for the advice mate.

If the one upstairs is wireless as well, you might want to look at getting a WAP (Wireless Access Point) or buying a cheap router that can be configured as one - I got a frikkin' awesome router from freecycle of all places!
What this will do is ensure that the connection between the machines is as good as it can be. Also a cantenna might be worth trying - essentially all this is, is a pringles tube chopped in half lengthways and fitted around the wireless ariel as I am fairly sure that your neighbours don't need to have a good connection to your network?

Hi i'm having the same problem, it plays for a few seconds and stops, plugged into router and very fast broadband, it's only that thread that it won't play it's not slow it just refuses to play it after a few seconds but the down load bar fills up, most odd I say. it'll play all other video on other threads on RR though!

It's a YouTube problem I reckon.....every time they tweak the format it slows down. I know it's not my computer, as videos on Streetfire.net and dailymotion.com work just fine.
