from my knowledge, i think a lot of them have slightly different fittings into/onto the bowls. that's not to say they can't be made to fit though so i've heard if you are that way inclined. i bought a complete set of halogen's for the escort though these were about £50ish iirc but that was everything including plastic bowls, bulbs, wiring loom etc

those'll fit. they're just the standard old 'lucas' style sealed beams,. with halogens you may want to run a relay system to make it easier on the switchgear if it doens't already run one. be midful though that most inserts you'll get will have a flat glass which may not be up there in the aesthetics department for what you want.
I converted my CROWN (quad headlight 5-3/4" jobbies) to h4 on low beams and long range driving inserts on the high beams with 100w bulbs and a relay for each lamp. such awesome lights now, much better than any newschool car even!

all you need is the H4 light and bulb it does need to be wired differently so don't just plug it in to the original plug
DON'T use the H1 as the brackets are wrong for this application

Yep, ditch the sealed beams. There are only two sizes of them, so the mini conversion kit will fit most vans, we have them on the mk1 SWB transit

I used to have Sealed beams on the MG Midget I had and some on the MGB. Compared to the Halogens on my other 'B they are OK (Midget's were far worse) but the later MGB is on its original Halogen lamps. With new ones it should improve, leaving me to put on the other items onto my older 'B. In terms of current consumption, they are not all that different from normal headlamps, 10W at most on dipped with no difference between main beam. I am debating on Cibies, in a curved glass for Retroness, but I hear that they are not so hot on dipped but amazing on main, maybe I'm a brand whore. Otherwise I may just go for the Wipac Quads. It's good to see a Cov Uni member on here .

Halogen kits?
Good golly, I ought to send somebody a whole case of halogen sealed beam bulbs, which cost pennies more than incandescent sealed beams, draw the same wattage, and that's that. Job done. Go smoke a pipe and pet the cat.

They do, but only in the states, it seems.
Probably dip the wrong way, too.
