alriiiiite, am new to this forum stuff so bare with us am a huge lover of the old fords and vdubs so thought I would share mine with all u lovers here is my pride and joy, bought for £500 off a good mate of mine, with a small ticket and no tax, the car is not legal, how ever, with a bit of tinkerin, she will fly through the next MOT so far she is a standard 1.3 with the slowest 0-60 run in history, 28.5 seconds haha, slapped on a 1.8 scirocco carb on her, the time came tumblin down. idling at 3500rpm will need to sort that out, part from that, havent done much to it yet, got some borbet a's on her, debadged grill, have a scirocco dash in it, lowerd 40mm but am ordering some coilys for it. stripped out rear seats and replaced the drivers seat. have replaced window seals and sunroof seal is in need of replacin also have a set of gti brakes aswell which ill fit soon. many people drop vr6's and 20v turbos in golfs, my idea is to drop a deisel lump in it, havent herd of many diesel conversions so think it a pretty good idea to do it. a good 1.9td out of an early A3 should do. but yeah, havent got many phots yet, so bare with us, will keep updatin as we go along, but please share yours veiws with me, and give us some tips on what u would do with it.

yeah a standard 130 brake lump, re-map it, larger nozzles and turbo should do the job. a mates has done that to his van, goes like curse word off a shovel. but yeah a few tweaks with her and she will go some

not really an update coz of no work but have a couple more photos now. rear panel is startin to fade slightly, can only rele notice wen u are right up close though. not worth a re-spray needs a clean, rocker cover gasket has deffinatly gone, but all in all for 113,000 miles shes n pretty good nick. with very little service history, am certain she is runnin on the original cam belt so that must be changed before shes put on the road. will also do alternator belt aswell as it has to come off ! a pic of those gti brakes I was on about, are worn but have a lot left on them, how ever fitting a set of second hand brakes probs aint the best move, but compared to the stock brakes on the car now, am willing to do it. with a clean up and grease, should be good enought to fit, both ball joints have no play in them and are both smooth.

alrite son, come in sit down have a beer, time for an update lol. didnt get any pictures coz it was dark wen i finished but will have tomoz basically fitted those coilovers and now the car is sittin bout 100mm lower, how ever was a bit to low and rubbed on the front arch so have scrubbed my tyres and bent the inner part of the arch. need to get then rolled but don't wanna curse word the paint, any one know of any tips to do this? just use the box at the BOTTOM LEFT of the screen haaha so raised the front about 20mm. still need to dial it all in tho. also bought a set of g60 top mounts, which was a good decsion as the ones that came off the bearings where shagged. have been told the mk2 golfs top mounts are a commom MOT fail. so a set of g60 top mounts off ebay came the next day car looks alot lower now which is good coz u could park the fakin QE2 under them arches ma boi. have tightend up the rear wheels bearins to as there was to much play in them. was good fun fittin it all, had the radio on listenin to some BASS LIIIIOOOONNNEEE lol, good times. but yeah will put up some photos of the whip tomoz, keep tuned

alrite fella's, have fixed the high idling on choke now, the problem was this little pipe here pointing staright at you there was a screwed in it bunging it up for some reason, have spoken to the guy who put the carb on and he has no idea why its there. basically that little pipe is running from some sort of vacuum from the choke and runs the to bottom of the air pan to the sensor from where obviously it senses its on choke and which then shuts of the cold air take with a butterfly valve and makes it run on the hot air take from the exhuast manifold. havent had the car unning yet but am certain this is what is causing the extremely hgh idling when on choke, can anyone certify this? as having the air filter pan of, u can obvioulsy get to alot more of the pipes running to and from the carb, noticed this one is pretty shagged so we need replacing when i have money lol. have cleaned up the engine bay alot but from the photo taking and the lightin u cant rele see it at all, looking all dull and grotty but in daylight is shiny and clean was cleanin it out in the driveway the other day which attracted alot of attention from all the neighbours which is nice am also happy how shes sittin now, althoguh still need to roll the front arches to be safe, altho she is ridged need need to have a clearence of course. rear arches are ok as the wheels are only 7.5' and not 9's. how ever am looking to get a set of 9's for the rear, so the arches would need to beaten in lol

got woken up the other day far to early buy a mate of mine who runs the local scrappy askin me if i know anyone who is interested in a mk2 jetta. so sent a few texts out and got a reply buy a good friend of mine who is tryin to get into the vdub scene, altho he never persued looking at the car so that was that with him rele, however having wanted a front end off one for my golf, one lunch time at college took a wee trip down to the scrappy to have a look at the beast. coupdknt believe my eyes at the condition the car was in. failed the MOT on brake lines and a couple of other things that arent a problem to sort. the starting price for the jetta was £200. so 2 days later it was sitting on my driveway shes a 1.8 8v with 97,000 on the clock. other sweet gadgets include power steering, central locking which is mighty slow, and 4 new tyres haha cant go wrong in my mind. original intentions was to swap engines and steering over from the jetta to the golf as that wont be goon on the road for a while. but now am having second thoughts bout it, might just throw the wheels and coilys from the golf tp the jetta. really cant decide on this tbh. jetta is in mint condition through out. altho sum wee bastrd took the ignition stalks and rear door handle but thats where the bay comes in handy engine is in good nick, lil oil from the rocker cover but thats to be expected and power steering seal from pump to pipe has blown but not majourly. other then that, she runs pretty well, slight tappin aswell wen cold so i reckon the hydraulic lifters have gone. but if she gets dumped in the golf, a rebuild will be done, as i dunno if the cam belt has been changed yet. and inside shes imaculate to. no stains or ne thing on the seats or carpet. and even smells nice believe it or not a side short of how long it is haha so pleased with how tidy it is, has been well looked after throgut the previous owner so thats about it so far. will still think weather to run the golf with a 1.8 or to through the stuff onto the jetta. please throw your thoughts my way as I'm happy to know what u think
