Yet another car to add to the garage Its a 1989 MK1 MR2 which has been in sat in a garage for 18 months + No MOT. it starts and runs fine bits of rust hear and there and needs a good wash and polish The cooling vent is broken as it has been kicked (woman scorned and all that ) This is my 1st MR2 so I know nothing about them. I may be asking questions to you people in the know ;D

Nice one - welcome to the Mk1 club.
Following on from the PM's the other day, that's a Mk1b and looks like its in pretty good shape too...I bet you are so glad to get it?
Keep us updated on progress etc....
Regards,
Bruce.
P.S. I know someone who is breaking a red Mk1b, so if you need the vent and other bits I can put you in touch...

Hey that doesn't look too bad at all from here.
How wierd though, I came to yours to test out your S12, and although awesome and fast whoosh, I couldn't swap my MR2ing for S12ing so bought another project MR2 instead of a tidy S12.
I reckon you'll like it, totally nimble and fun handling but maybe not the explosive power you are used to compared.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

WOW! That's quick work.....and looks pretty impressive too!
Where abouts are you? I hope (for your sake) you're not too near Bristol.....you may find a certain blue MR2 appearing outside your workshop for some TLC! I should be picking it up in a couple of weeks (getting excited already)
Keep the updates coming.

I have a project one of these. It's taxed and MOT'd. The amount of work on the body it needs is scary. I've driven it 100 miles in the past couple of days, it's a really good laugh.

That area seems to collect leafs and grot from windscreen, and as hardly ever checked till this stage it festers in there, multiskinned though so usually not a big prob. great progress BTW

The wing has bolts on the top inside the door shut, four along the top (with a pair of rubber 'bungs'), two underneath the headlight (where is meets the lower bumper - you have to get under), and a couple more on the sill.

cracking rear on the the rear there chap, what are you planning with the wheels? a refurb in the original style?
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Yer i kinda like the old wheels so i am thinking just flat and polish them and paint inside the tear drops black + the standard wheels are really light weight, good for much fast ness
