Model:MK1 Carlton auto Year: 1982 Mileage: 73K Tax: none MOT:none Pics: This is a now very rare MK1 Carlton . I bought it about 2 years ago after it had been laid up in a warm garage for nine years. I replaced the brake master cylinder (£160 ouch) and the leaky back shocks and it passed a mot with no advisories! This is probably the most rustfree MK 1 you will ever find. turret tops are perfect and it has never been welded underneath and doesn't need any. The doors are perfect and the interior looks like new. It drives very well ,quite nippy too. It was ordered as a demonstrator for a main dealer , so it has all the options that were available at the time, including auto transmission ,sliding steel sun roof, and power steering. The dove blue metallic paint is unusual on a mk1 too, I never seen another. I am really sorry to part with this car, but ill health means I wont be using it this year and it's now parked outside at my friends farm and the mostly original paintwork is suffering from the weather. This car would make a great daily driver, it has a good heater too. There is a big history with the car and some new spares including a new exhaust and new brake discs. Whoever buys will be the third owner in the book! I would like the car to go to somebody who will use it. The banger racers have been asking my friend about it and offered good money for it. I have owned 4 V car carltons and this is by far the best one I've ever had. £250 ....A bargain for somebody. Contact details:PM or 07527153626

Have you any current pics, and what would be needed to get an MOT do you think?
Cheers Mick

I don't think it will need anything for a MOT, it's only done 25 miles since the last one. Maybe some tyres if you want to keep it original as the ones on. are very old. However, I have a set of 17''alloys with nearly new pirellis fitted, which you could have for an extra £100. I'll post pics if your're interested. The car looks the same( bar a cleaning ) but the laquer is breaking down on the roof and bonnet. It is usable though.

I went to Hastings to collect the Carlton. 600 mile round trip towing a trailer at 60 mph. I'd been looking for one for ages. These are the wheels I bought for it. The're staggered - 7x17 front 8x17 rear. I paid £200 for them, got them from a a guy on this forum. £100 extra if wanted with the car. The car is priced for a quick sale, I've promised my friend, whose land it's stored on, that I will move it before the end of the month.

She's lovely, I'm sure it will get snapped up quickly, Don't let the banger boys have it, Be a shame for a good one to get trashed.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

No, I won't let them have it. If nobody on here wants it I'll post it on some VX forums. I had big plans for this car and I would like it to go to a VX enthusiast.

Yeah it's me. A sad sale as you can imagine, but I'm leaving for Los Angeles in a few weeks and won't be back until next year.

I had plans for this car. A respray in the original colour, stock looking except rims. Lowered Monza springs up front,Manta coupe springs at the rear and some bigger brakes. All in preparation for one of these under the bonnet. 3 ltr 12v six out of a Carlton with matching auto gearbox. 180bhp and virtually a bolt in transplant. 180bhp in a car weighing under 1200 kilos would make a nice sleeper.

Lovely looking car. Same chassis as an early Australian Holden Commodore, so a 5L V8 will slot in it nicely which will make it an awesome sleeper. Will keep an eye on this as I'm moving in two weeks and will need a project to keep me busy on weekends!!!
