I wanted to post up and say hello and introduce our project.
We're building a bike engined Kitten and entering it into the PPC £999 Challenge - yes, we know we're not the only people building a bke engined Kitten at the moment, and yes, we know now that Froggy built one and won the PPC £999 Challenge last year, but when we entered and bought the Kitten, we had no idea.
Anyway, we've got ourselves a lovely, pockmarked, white Kitten Estate and a rather nice Yamaha R1 engine.
Somehow, we're going to have to put the two together to make some kind of demon Kitten. We're going for a FR layout and we're going to be trying to keep a proper reverse gear on the car.
So far, we've stripped the shell and removed it; cleaned up the chassis and painted it. Our next job is to repair the one area of rust in the chassis and start mounting the R1 engine. Then we need to get it hooked up to the rear and wired in properly. We also need to upgrade the brakes so we can stop the thing!
We're keeping a build diary at www.projectkitten.com - but I'll try and keep this thread updated too... I'll post some pics in a minute
