I decided a couple of weeks ago to spend a week in Berlin and I got back on Saturday.
What a fantastic place and as this is a car forum and not a holiday forum I will get straight to the petrol talk.
I had heard about Trabi-safari before I left Glasgow and made it a point to track it down no matter what and it was fantastic.
I took a tour of East Berlin at the wheel of a zebra print Trabant ;D
A quick lesson on the column shift;
and were off;
It was slow, smelly, noisy and pulled to the right under breaking but we had a great time. The guide in the lead car gives you a tour and all the information by radio but we were so busy enjoying ourselfs we didnt really listen much.
There were loads to choose from as well;
Berlin was also great for spots. Loads of really well tuned Mercs and Beemers as well as more Ferrari's than you could count. Here are the spots I caught on camera;
In the checkpoint charlie museum, this Beetle smuggled 55 people out of the easy 1 at a time under the petrol tank;
These were in a shop unit on the second floor;
Ice cream van
Another place worth visiting is the Technic Museum but sadly when I was there the car hall was shut . Still saw this but;
Hope you like the pics and I definately recomend a visit to Berlin.
Dave.
