I currently roll around in a '95 Dturbo 405. It's a good car, does what I want it to, but it just looks a bit dull. I got some alloys off a mates 306 which helped but I can't help think a good amount of lowering will really make me appreciate this car Had a mess around on Paint earlier and came up with a look Id be happy with but which I reckon wouldnt hinder the car too much with it grounding out on speed bumps, man hole covers, white lines etc etc This is it now... This is how it could look... Do it?

Chopping a coil or two at the back and fitting front suspension from a "close but not quite" model is not the way to do it if you do

Would putting petrol springs at the front help? don't know how much weight difference there would be between a dturbo and say a 1.6?

Can't really say for that one, but my mk3 diesel mondeo had petrol springs wrongly fitted at the front. Looked real good on the front, with the tyres just beginning to tuck up into the arches. To balance it out I left the boot FULL of junk at all times. For the 405, just make sure there's nothing vulnerable hanging low (they do sit high on the back anyway) and do it.
