1959 Anglia 100E Deluxe, I bought it in March '07, in September '07 the alternator packed up and I parked it in the (warm and dry) garage, intending to get it back on the road. I've realised that it's not going to happen in the near future, so I've reluctantly decided to sell it.
As it was already done when I bought it, the information I have is what I was told by the previous owner, who did the work. There may be some things I've forgotten in the 2 years since I bought it.
Engine: 1500 pre-X flow, I was told it has a Kent cam in it, but I personally can’t confirm that. It does have a 28/36 Webber carb on period ‘Conversion and Tuning’ manifold and a 4-branch tubular exhaust manifold, feeding into a 2” single box exhaust.
Gearbox: MK1 Cortina, again I was told it has Lotus Cortina gear clusters in it, but can’t confirm it.
Rear Axle: Ford Classic 109E
Rear Suspension: polybushed 100E springs, Spax shocks.
Front Suspension: Re-drilled 107E cross member, Classic 109E struts, 105E track control arms and track rods.
Wheels and tyres: 14” Sierra (or maybe Mondeo?) steel wheels with 165/65 R 14's front and 185/65 R 14's rear
Body: Very solid, has had welding on jacking points and battery tray area (battery is now in the boot), but I think all the rest is original. previous owner fitted a new rear panel. Usual 100E grot spots need tidying, front corners of bonnet, rear lower corners of front wings, and there is some bubbling around the bottom of the back window. Driver's door is bubbling along the bottom and the window frame is corroded, but I have a good door that will go with the car. Fibreglass sunvisor fitted.
Interior: Front seats are from a Suzuki Swift, and are in good condition. rear seat, door cards and headlining are original and in good condition, but need a clean. Metro carpet has been fitted, I use the word 'fitted' loosely. Mountney steering wheel.
Other bits: Speedo doesn't work, I fitted a digital bike speedo. Small ali fuel tank in boot, so fuel gauge not connected. needs alternator and battery, starts straight away with a jump, even when it hasn't been run for several months. Has an oil leak on the rear axle, probably the pinion seal but I haven't investigated. Clutch was just starting to slip if you put you foot down. Brakes pull up square but with a 'shimmy' through the steering wheel, could do with new discs at a guess.
Car is in Leicester, about 5 minutes from M1 J21A. Will obviously need trailering/transporting away.
Asking £750 ono.
