If they're VR6 they won't fit as mines a valver so is 4 stud. I changed them recently anyway for Brmebo Max ones. Thanks for the offer though. Did you enjoy NR? Was a good one I thought. Loved the 2 MKI fiestas.
Cheers for the comments on the car, it's coming along nicely. I'm looking forward to actually getting it out on track and using it for what I bought it for.

Well first track day done and dusted. The day was to be frank perfect. Started off soaking wet and chucking it down which meant we spent most of the morning exploring the car's and our own abilities in a slow and sliding manner. After lunch both me and my Dad went out with the instructor which was a real eye opener. After that the sun came out and the track gradually dried. With the knowledge from the instructor and the drying track we were both getting much quicker by the end of the day. I'm now officially a Track Day addict and I'm already saving for my next fix! THe car was faultless all day and inspired confidence. It's the best £500 car I have ever bought, in fact it's probably the best £500 I have ever spent. My Dad got some pics from the official photographers, given a couple of them a quick edit in photoshop and here they are for your pleasure. Nick

I have been most remiss in keeping this thread up to date. Shame on me! The following should read alright but I'm just cutting and pasting from my build thread on Edition38. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Couple of shots I took a while back: Bit annoyed as my tripod seems to have moved slightly cuasing a biot of a problem merging shots on the 2nd one  Another awesome day down at Combe in July for the VW Drivers Magazine Track Day. A few pics some mates took. From Llewellyn: And one from Joe: Next stop was Silverstone in September, no pics on the track but... Popping the track wheels away to day and thought I'd get some shots of the wear. All together. Both rears look like this, not bad just loads of lose rubber picked up on the in lap. Drivers front, a bit worn but still plenty of life left in it. Passenger front, oh dear. So that's it for track action in 09. Onto 2010 ......... When theis car was built back in the day it had the VSAM Pro engine management fitted to it which in a nut shell is an ECU that controls the timing and also controls and extra (Digifant style) injector which is mounted in the metering head. THis allows you to fine tune the K-Jet system for engines in a higher state of tune. THis is all good stuff except VSAM Pro is very much an antique in the aftermarket ECU world and as it pretty much pre dates the internet information is scant to say the least. However I after much searching I found a chap in Oz who used to libve here and ran it on a KR powered Corrado. THis guy is a legend, he's managed to find a copy of the software for mapping it and is sorting me with a wiring diagram to make up the cable. I just need to pick up a cheap old lappy that has a serial port and Windows 95 or 98 and I'm away! Also sorted myself a Corbeau (SP) Forza Sport 2000 Bucket seat brand new for a bargain on ebay as well as an old knackered GTI drivers seat for free off a mate. With the help of a friend I'll be cutting up the old seat to build a sliding subframe for the bucket. It needs to slide as I share track days with my Dad and we're not the same height. While browsing CGTI came across a very interesting thread about BTCC MKII Golfs from the 88 and 89 seasons and some pics www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=157838 . All of this has finally formed an on going plan for this car which to be honest was originally just razz it round track days and fix what breaks. As a lover of shows as well as trackdays I've always wanted the car to look good as well as drive well. I can't afford (nor really want) a full blown show car but now I have a plan. A replica 88 season touring car like the one above. I can do it without spending big bucks and then I can have fun with how it drives and how it looks without having to worry about mint paintwork. Also as a rep it'll never go "out of fashion" in the scene and should get a little interest on club stands etc. The exterior will be the easiest and cheapest bit to do. All the cage and stuff will be expensive but will be beneficial for trackdays so it's win/win. I now feel I have a long term plan for the car far more than I did before and I reckon in a couple of years it should be awesomez. Found some video footage of the 88 touring golf. 1:30 onwards for about 10 secs you catch a few glimpses of it being murdered by Rouse and Sopers in the RS500's. 2:00 onwards having a dice up the inside. Many thanks to Mark for sorting the subframe out and Simon for his welding skills. And a couple of pics from todays Reading Meet. Nick

Nick, can you wind in a bit more camber on the front? You'd probably see quilte a big difference in grip on the track seeing how you're wearing the outer edge of those poor Toyos Also possibly some stiffer ARBs if they're available? Alternatively if you're enjoying yourself as it is just leave it Nothing worse than trying to make your car better and finding you enjoy it less!

It's running -2Deg already. I think the toe was out a bit which added to the fact that silverstone has lots of fast, long corners and an abrasive surface that did them in. All the other FWD cars running that day had exactly the same problem.

If you do have more photos that would be awesome. I'm especially after shots of the door number stickers so I can get a replica set knocked up.

Nice work! Hope all's well Mr Horne. Golf is looking superb and obviously going pretty well too. I have gone to the opposite Dub extreme and am now trundling about in a T4 camper.
