seems quite a novel idea, I think costs are a bit high though. OK for short specific tasks but at £20 plus VAT for a bay with a lift, starting to get on a level with cheap back street garages anyway.....I suppose it is in London though! They should charge different rates for different times of the day seeing as they are 24 hours

I remember back in the 80's there were a few of these places around. One of the first was a garage in Milton Keynes used to rent out ramps/bays etc. Not sure how popular it was, but I often wondered if you started something major and you come unstuck ie broke something or couldnt get it off, it could turn out expensive if your stuck on the ramp for a day or so waiting for a part. Not sure how you stand if you had to leave it overnight or something.

There's another business like this that has recently started in South Petherton, Somerset. Seems like a good idea for a specific job but as said, you'd need to be very organised about getting the job done one time...

Does look interesting and pretty local too. Would be very useful for folks without garages (like me!) to do some servicing in the dry during the winter.

Good idea in principle but one seized bolt or stripped thread could end up costing you a fortune.

Fantastic idea. I really like it. I would use it, although paying by the hour, would make me rush jobs.....

I thought about this with my farmer landlord, he has a massive barn which is being little used so i said I would knock the side wall out and put a door or 3 in to rent out bays, he didn't say no I was thinking by the day or week though and not that dear!!

I share a barn with a mate.
We often exchange temporary spaces for services such as welding etc.
On the odd occaision, we also have medium term 'guest cars' (2-3 months) for a couple of quid a week when we have the space.

There used to be a DIY garage like ths in Aberdeen, but it closed down due to lack of interest. Seemingly there wasnt enough older cars with owners who do their own repairs and servicing for him to cover his costs.
