Fully original mk3 golf gti 8v for sale - No real reason for sale I just fancy a change as anybody that knows me knows I like to change my cars a lot... no reason other than the fact I enjoy it. Been very happy with this car, definately up there with one of the best cars ive had and definately the most reliable.
MOT - July 24th(I do not see this car failing in any way I am very confident it will go through. If it does not sell by the 24th of june I will re MOT it and sell it with 13 months mot, I cannot mot it at the moment as it cannot be anymore than 1 month earlier. Will negotiate more on price if you want it before the new MOT but if I have to put it through another MOT I will be asking more and less likely to negotiate on price so grab a bargain while you can).
Tax - Loads of it, February 2010
Mileage - Below average for the year - 114k, MOT history included along with some service history and receipts etc. Had no advisories on the last MOT.
Being a 97 car they have galvanised bodys so are less prone to rust etc, I have included pictures of underneath so you can see there is no problems and pictures of the sills etc.
Finished in a very nice dragon green metallic, a couple or so usual carpark dings and scratches etc, nothing major with a good machine buff 90% of them would be completely gone I believe I just havent had the time to get some new pads and polish to give it a good going over but I have been hand waxing it every weekend. All trim etc is in good condition and has not faded. Was fitted with anniversary red badges and brake calipers as optional extras from the factory.(288mm setup as fitted to late VR6s etc.) VERY strong brakes with the ABS they stop seriously quick.
Quite a rare model as it has no sunroof and aircon which is quite rare on an 8v its mostly VRs & 16vs that come with aircon.
Extra upgraded category 1 alarm and immobiliser system fitted from new still in full working order with remote central locking etc. Total closure, one click closes all the windows and locks the doors as well as arms the immobiliser.
Full adjustable steering column, all electric windows work also lower automatically from 1 touch like they should, both sides electric mirrors work, aircon is ice cold and works, powersteering all works fine seats are all in mint condition with no bolster wear. Rest of car and interior looks like its done about 40k rather than 100, although its still a relatively low miler for the year and for an 8v model which will do well in excess of 200,000 miles when cared for like this one. Recently serviced with genuine VW oil filter, polen filter, long life oil etc. Not long had cambelt done, engine is quiet as a mouse and has absolutely no problems, pulls strongly(a lot stronger than other mk3 8vs I have driven) as it should, recent new exhaust system, mid box and rear. Catalytic convertor still there and in good working order. Emmisions were very low on the last MOT
MFA fully works showing MPG oil tempt etc which brings me to the economy, car is very good on fuel for a 2.0 as I was doing 38mpg on the way home when I first picked it up and can still achieve this easily thats driving normally, if you was driving it very economically you could probably get 40mpg out of it.
All the brakes are in good condition with no scoring or warping of the disks etc, being the later model it has the larger 288mm brakes fitted to the VR6 usually, ABS system all works as it should as does the airbag(all the lights go out like they should).
Alloys all in good condition, recently had 2 brand new tyres and the other 2 havent long been replaced as they have loads of tread(6-7mm easily) 205/50s on the front and 195/50s on the rear.
Gearbox is good, does not pop out of reverse like the 8v models usually do, no crunches or whines either. Doesnt even crunch into second like a lot of 8vs, not notchy feels very easy to use and nice and tight like it should
Sony Cd player fitted original speakers, uncut parcel shelf, you can tell this gti has only every been original and never owned by a boy racer etc.
This car is fully original and has not been messed with in anyway, how many examples are there like this?
