Hello all.
Although I havn't posted for a while I've been a member for a few years now after I found a Retro Rides flier under the windscreen wiper of my old motor in Oxford
Anyway, long story short(er): I lost interest in my last Golf (in my sig) after I found out it was pretty crusty and not worth pouring a load of money into.. so I kind of dropped out of the whole retro thing.
Earlier this year I managed to write this car off like the proverbial tw*t, with the help of some black ice and a roundabout..
Since I'd replaced a large quantity of the old motor with spanking new OEM bits I had a whole car of spares, so the hunt was on for another Mk2 16v..
After 4 months of looking at some properly overpriced dogs I finally found this one in Swindon (also where the last one came from, and apparently a Mk2 Golf mecca ).
The car's pretty tidy and (fingers crossed) doesn't need any major work; so I don't expect to bring you a constant stream of interesting updates as with many of the other cracking threads in this section.
I've done a lot of small boring jobs, but will spare you all the details as I've already sent everyone to sleep over on Cgti with them ;D
Car is totally stock, 3 owners from new, 113k miles, PAS, leccy windows and mirrors (pimpin' ). Future plans are currently restricted to continued tidying and swapping over the 15" RAs from the old motor. Longer term I'd like to drop it a bit on Eibach springs and ARBs, and fancy an all steel high CR ABF screamer; but these will have to wait till I have something other than less than no money
Anyway, a few pics:
Needless to say, you'll see no crystal lights or retro fitted big bumpers here
