my lowering kit has made the golf a tad lower than perfect at the back
I was thinking some kind of rubber seat for the spring would boost it that little bit higher
any ideas for a little raise at the back...not looking at spending lots

Might raise it too far, but you can get spring assistors for most cars for towing loads iirc.
Think I even saw a universal kit at Halfrauds.. might be imagining tho
edit: use of english are has fail!

There are those rubber spring helpers that fit between coils to help with towing, fitting those might suffice.

I got some towing/load assistors from ebay, theres a chap/company selling loads, It was falling low under any weight and these seem to help, wouldn't say they raised it a lot, just stopped it sinking. Otherwise i did ponder putting longer/stronger springs in. HTH

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

What lowering kit did you fit? I have a set of 40mm Spax springs forsale cheap if thats any help. Failing that the rubber inserts from halfrauds/any motorfactors would work

those inserts look a bit thick to fit ...my coils are closly wound

When I saw the title of this thread I thought you meant 10-15 INCHES....!! I had visions of a 70's custom style Golf. ;D Hmmm, I wonder...
|
|
... the only injury I sustained was a bumped head when I let the seatbelt of without realizing the car was upside down and that's not really the car's fault.

what spec golf and springs have you got?
mk 2 golf 16v springs are 15mm lower than standard mk2 golf springs, so might fit in the height range you want.

The Weitec springs seem to be quite saggy for lowering springs in my experience, the rear usually drops a bit too much with just the springs and needs raising back up on the shock collars. Of course you could lop a coil out of the front and just run less tyre.

Lower the front more to give the impression you raised the rear.

my passat was like that when I put -40mm springs on it. a set of JOM lowering spring caps on the front and its spot on now it doesnt help that VW cars of that era all seem to have been designed with "lower" wheelarches at the back, so although the chassis is probably sitting level, the arches give the impression of rake.
