Modifications: The car was set up on a rolling road last year after the installation of the Apexi Power FC at Dastek, Fife. Although the engine was capable of making in excess of 380 horsepower, it was reduced to run approximately 370hp to allow for safe injector duty and boost level. It achieves this using a maximum of 1.1bar of boost, meaning that the relatively weak stock ceramic turbos are performing within the limits of their seals' threshold. During this roling road session the car was appraised as being mechanically strong, reaching factory specification compression on all cylinders.
The car is structurally immaculate. There are no areas of rust whatsoever, the rear arches and boot being particular areas of concern. These are completely immaculate. The boot has been despoilered though and has now got some filler in there to fill the holes, and as such could do with a repaint. I may get this done before the car goes...
Service wise, the timing belt and tensioner were changed under 500 miles ago as i could not verify the last time it was done. The engine has a diet of Silkolene Pro S oil which is changed religiously at 5k intervals.
Personally, the performance of this car is simply brutal. It may not have the high power figures of the later mk4 supras, but the torque curve and sensible tuning means that power delivery is strong and consistent throughout the power band. The handling is spot on courtesy of the coilovers and appropriately sized wheels for the cars mass.
Car is Sorn but is fully driveable if some tax goes on it.
I'm up for a swap for something interesting, and have a severe V8 fetish... So try me!
MODS: My last ad for this got deleted. Fair enough if it wasnt exactly right, but can i at least get a PM if this is taking the long walk again so at least i know what i'm doing wrong...
