Mmmmmmm,
Went to tax the viva today and the reference number wouldn't work on the on-line wassaname so I went to find the registration doco. On finding said doco it became apparent that the MOT ran out at the begining of July!
Thank christ I didn't get pulled over this month! That includes going up to the retro day at the pod (150 mile round trip) and an excursion up to Oxford the other day! It looks well pull-able as well, with no bumper on the front and patchy primer all over the place.
Check your papers kids!

Lucky! My dad once ran round for a month without MOT for the same reason and got away with it. Good job really as he's a policeman lol.

I think we've all done it. Managed 2 weeks this year on her daily before I remembered.
Back in the days before anpr you could be clever with your MOT and tax and get just under 2 years out of one MOT. As long as you never got pulled or crashed you'd get away with it. Naughty but true ;D

We get people all the time at work asking for duplicate MOTs because they cannot find theirs. When we punch the number in, at least once a week one will come back with 'No test has been conducted on this vehicle within the last 18 months' If its all computersed could they not tell you when your MOT is due on your tax reminder too?

I was a curse word for forgetting too. I think I managed about 4 months with corsa about 6 years ago.
Soon as I get a car I write down on my calender when its due. Can't forget then.

My dad always used to MOT a month later than he was supposed to. It meant he got a 'free' one every 12 years. Tight Git haha!

My sisters boyfriend spent the last two months telling me how he wished someone would steal his car because he owes a hell of a lot more on it than its worth (He's had It 5 years and the bonnet was opened last year when I serviced it for him and drained the sump to find it contained nearly a mouthful of what was once oil). He tried to tax it and found out that the insurance ran out 3 months ago and the MOT 1 month ago. But he drives a 53 plate blandmobile so could probably get away with it for years

MOT booked in Tomorrow at a place called 'just the ticket' in New Malden. £29 for the test with no VAT to worry about! Score!

Oops, at least you got a slightly longer MOT!
Several years back I was stopped by an ordinary panda car (not traffic cops) for a headlight out on my capri, was convinced i had a month's MOT left.. They called in with my reg on the radio and said my MOT was expired. I talked to them for ages, totally adamant I had one, and fixed the light a the roadside, eventually they just waved me on my way, after i'd convinced them it must be a problem with their fancy new database.
Got home and found a reminder letter that my MOT was actually due the previous month! Doh!
Talking b0LL0x is easier when you believe what you're saying i guess!

I actually managed to honestly forget the MOT on my van this year. Turns out it expired in november last year and i got it tested last month ! Can't believe i got away with it and checked all the other motors immediately. It's easy to lose track of time !
