I always thought that all of the Volvo 340/360 engine were of renault origin, I was wrong the 2.0 360's came with the B200E engine. Correct? If thats right how hard is it to swap a B200FT engine from a 940 Turbo into a Volvo 360? Surely it's a straight swap with exhaust, wiring and ECU changes to be made? I've seen 360' swith B200FT in before but assumed it was loads of work! Custom engine mounts ect Basically can I get a rotten 940 turbo and just swap all the bits into a 360 glt with a knackered engine? ![](http://www.volvoadventures.com/TM13.jpg) + ![](http://www.forum-auto.com/uploads/200406/thx8411_1086367263_b230ft.jpg) = Awesome win!

I think you can.. the blocks iirc are the same, only issues I forsee are space for the turbo and exhaust.. mind you if the B200 will fit then so will the B230.. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

IIRC the turbo fouls the steering or similar with the standard manifold. Easily sorted though. Apart from that I think its bolt in.

Cool, it's a bit of a pipe dream really. It's just a mate of mines offered me a 360 GLT with a smokey engine for peanuts and 740 turbos/wentworth are mega cheap too. Seems like a conversion that could be completed in a weekend (providing nothing major needed doing!)
I've heard the 300 series gearbox is weak, could it handle a mildly tweeked B200FT? 180-200bhp-ish?

There's definate issues with the steering column, but people have resolved it before so it is doable. The other option for slightly less win is the 16v non-turbo (in 2.0 and 2.3 flavours iirc). You still have minor fit problems: distributor on the bulkhead (it is mounted on the end of the camshaft), but nothing a bit of tin work or a swap to Megasquirt wouldn't cure ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) As for doing it in a weekend, hmmmm, maybe...if you're VERY sorted and you've got a Very long weekend!!

The differential is the weak point.
