Ok, so the viva is out of tax, but the MOT unbeknownst to me, ran out of MOT last month, so now I have an un-taxable car which I can't mot, can't park it outside the flat because it's untaxed, can't sorn it ....well, you get the idea...
I had an MOT booked today for 4 but had to cancel it as when checking over the car it was apparent that it pulls to the left when braking. I've had this problem before - just whip the pads out of the offending calliper (in this case, the right hand side) to free up the piston that isn't playing ball, but after pushing back and forth for bloody ages, getting a bit of wet and dry on any slighty crusty bits on the piston whilst it's fully out, giving a squirt of WD, back and forth, back and forth, I just can't get it to move as freely as the other one. With no pads in, when you press the peddle, only one piston comes out unless you stop the free -moving piston with a bar, then the other one moves. Suffice to say, it still pulls to the left.
What can I do? Calliper rebuild kit so I can pull it apart and put it back together again? What would you do?
