It is with a very heavy heart that I have decided to sell my beloved Ford Capri... Another project, and not alot of space, has forced my decision so it has to go!
This superb car is one of the earliest UK Mk3 Capri's on the road today being registered in March 1978 and it truly is splendid... It has the superbly macho 3-litre Essex V6 engine mated to Ford's super smooth automatic transmission and it drives, and sounds, like nothing else on this Earth...!!!
The bodywork is in the wonderful shade of metallic Jupiter Red and, to be perfectly honest, the car could do with a respray as the paint has faded somewhat over the years. This is not to say that it is not presentable but to be truly A1 this would need attending to. Other bodywork issues include the passenger door being terminally rusty (an excellent condition replacement is included in the sale) the front wings needing attention around the headlights and some rust is appearing on the inner wing area (the worst being near the front on the bonnet slam panel) there is also a patch of rust by the bottom right hand side of the windscreen on the scuttle panel but it has not rusted through... On the plus side it is structurally very solid and still exceptionally tidy (even the sunroof still tilts and slides as it should...!)
The interior is in the striking shade of Indian Red (Scarlet) and save for some wear to the drivers seat it is a truly glorious place to be. The dash is original and un-cracked and it still has its original Ford-fitted radio/cassette which still works...!!!
This car also comes with a very extensive service history including the original bill of sale, handbooks and various MOT's, tax discs and bills for work done to it in its 31 years on the roads...
To sum up this is a fantastic, usable (MOT'd till May 2010), piece of Fords history from, probably, its most prolific period in the UK... I do not want to sell this car but I have to so it must go to a true Capri enthusiast who is going to maintain it or bring it back to its 'factory finished' glory... This is a rare car in a rare colour combination so please save it! I would be lying if I said it didn't need any work doing to it as it really does but once attended to this would make a cracking example of Fords coupe for the masses...
Silly offers will not be accepted, if you're interested in this car then you should really come and view it before making an offer. If anybody out there has any questions or queries please get in touch with me & I will try to answer you the best I can...
I'm looking for approximately £1700 but will accept sensible, realistic, offers...! I am located in the Surrey area...
