Additional Information:
Well my favourite vehicle of ever is up for grabs. I love this thing dearly, it's a big, lumbering, growling, simplistic mammoth of a thing and is the best fun i've had in a car, also spectacularly awesome for chucking you, up to 8 mates and all their guff in and just going away on a road trip somewhere. The engine is a peach, the 3 speed automatic th400 transmission is spot on with not the teensiest bit of slippage and no hesitation engaging gears, it's not the smoothers slughbox ever, but then this is hardly a luxury 'sedan'. It's also got a rather cool B&M tall shifter, floor mounted - the column change has been removed - don't ask it wan't me. Tis fitted with the 454 big block engine with exhaust duties being left to a cherry bomb on a side exit - as you can guess it sounds like Thor burping - just immense!
It's the 2500 model, I.e. 3/4 tonne truck, which means it'll tow your house if you want it to I can't remember the maximum towing capacity on these but I remember it being absolutely ridiculous. It has all the fittings for a tow bar but not the actual ball bit, just a harley davidson plate in the whole where the tow ball would usually slot in. Again it's a mystery but I haven't had to tow anything with it (couldn't anyway by law).
Another important point - it has turbo vec's! With 33" knobblies on them that have an absolute heap of tread on them.
There are a couple of electrical glitches on the car - the stereo does not work, I have tried a couple of different headunits but still no luck - it won't turn on. Being shocking at electrics I just left it and listened to the burble instead.
The a/c is not doing much at all either, I cannot hear the compressor doing anything when you switch it 'on' and the revs don't change at all, this hasn't really bothered me that much. Also the fuel guage was stuck on full but is now stuck on empty - guessing it's a borked sender. This has never caught me out and I work on the basis that it'll do 15mpg combined.
I have made several very longhaul trips in the truck taking it from bournemouth to santa pod (it ran low 17.1's) and back, down to cornwall with a load of mates, endless trips to london and back all without fault. The fuel consumption is not that bad - roundabout 10 round town, i'd say getting close to 20 on a 60mph cruise and god knows what in between. But if you're looking for a sipper as opposed to a gulper you'll probably do well looking elsewhere.
The reason I am selling this is that insurance is proving absolutely impossible to source due to my young age. 25 seems to be the minimum age required. I am sure there is loads of stuff I have left out - if there is just ask me - happy to answer question. Also feel free to pop down and have a poke around the thing - tis much cooler in the metal. Also you gotta hear the thing!
One last thing - pics:
p.s. chassis rails have some surface rust - but no serious rot -they're easy enough to see.
p.p.s I have no doubt the mileage has been round the clock once - but have no proof for this as it was imported fairly recently - 2005. Original manuals/sales brochure are all with the car.
