Hi all,
Lady Hardcore has demanded Lotus Steels on the Mk1 Fez I'm doing fer her - I've explained the obvious cost and wrong offset issues but would like to see if there is a do-able option.
So, is there such a thing as a 13" steel, in a FWD offset suitable for a Mk1 Fiesta which will accept a Lotus-style chrome hub cap? Width isn't a concern as I'll be getting it banded to suit the arch once the suspension is set up as we want it.
Many thanks!
HC.

Hmm, that hasn't gone overly well - perhaps what I want doesn't exist In which case does anyone have any FWD 13" Ford steels they'd be willing to part with? Ones designed to take hub-caps would be even better Cheers, HC.

plenty of steels, not sure about taking hubcaps but they may not be difficult to mod. mk1/2 xr2 steels are 6" wide and there are usually spare wheels with the mk3s that are around 5.5", wide, check ebay and local scrappies i have 1 5.5" steel wheel off an xr2i i think, ebay special.

Yeah dude - you're spot on I'm sure; should get my ass down so breakers & see what they've got! What I really want is solid steels (no holes in, excempt the mandatory 4 + one in the middle!) if that makes any sence at all!? HC.

none like that were ever available for a fiesta, only older rwd stuff. the wider steels from fiestas usually look a bit like wellers with circular holes around the outer rim.

D'oh - I thought that was the case Would any early RWD steels be suitable (offset-wise) or are all RWD wheels out of the question an an un-arched FWD car? On another tack - what else is FWD and 108mm PCD that might have what I'm looking for? I'm not massively concerned about the width at this stages so if something skinny & old will suit then they'll do nicely HC.

5.5" rwd steels will fit, but you'll need stiffer springs, arch's rolled and panhard rod made adjustable if its lowered. also having narrow tyres will help.
don't think there are any other steels the same offset though at that size.
