I'm having a little problem with backfiring.. The Volvo has done it 3 times in my short ownership, twice of which were tonight.
It's a 2.3 on K-jet and LPG
The Exhaust is a cobbled together pile of bits, it blows slightly (I know this can be a cause of backfires, but the blow isn't very big..) and I think the backbox is too restrictive. Could restriction have an effect on it?
The backfiring has only happened on gas, though it would, because it's on gas 95% of the time.
I read through a wikipedia article on it, and it says it could be because the fueling is too rich... Or too lean I'd hazard a guess that if it is anything, it is rich, because if you drive with 'enthusiasm', it does that cool sounding gurgly-crackly-poppy noise when the revs drop to change gear...
Any suggestions would be appreciated though I'd imagine first step will be to make sure the exhaust is flowing as it should and not blowing anymore...
Have a pic of it, just to keep the thread nicer (worse ) to look at
