Scrap yard hunting today for some bits that are borked on the Mk2 I came across these retro beautys.. 6X9 Grills. Perfect, as I have substituted the banana shaped parcel shelf for one that is straight but with some naff Pioneer speakers in so I can hide themwith this retro-goodness. Rich

Looking good there. I love MK2's , I have had 3 and have been looking for a 1300 on and off for a while. You should check out my mates 13oo lhd mk2 on here. TYP 19 is his name. His car is amazing I would love a 1300 on lpg for a super eco ride.

Seen Martin's mk2 already, before he put the pics on here, the first time he took it out bar the MoT he brought it down to one of our local VW club meets in southsea! FTW! Its a beauty, make no mistake. He walked off with the members choice car award that night ;D Rich

Ok, got the GTI cam today but it turns out it was a solid lifter camshaft so no good at all. But I helped my mate fit his new exhaust so I got given his old ANSA 4-2-1 in return.. Here it is on the motor.. And here is a pic of the old manifold for comparison In light of a lack of free GTI cam, and an urgentish need to get the car finished, I thought I might pop this 2 litre GTI cam in instead as it has a couple of mill more lift Just have to see what happens with that I think. Then fitted the manifold.. And the carb. Thats all for tonight

Hopefuly last few bits and bobs and it can go back in. Mate should be coming over tomorrow to help machine polish the bodywork again for super shine and then MoT time Think I'll use the 1.6 cam for now though. play on the safer side of things at the moment.
