Hi,
It's been a while since I sold my carlton on and I'm sadly no closer to getting another one so I'll put this up on here and see if it'll help anyone out:
For Sale: One semi-stripped C30SE 24v engine plus stack of bits to go with it (pictures at bottom of post)
looking for £100 for it, or £200 if you want to take the engine stand that it's bolted on to
I live in birmingham (about 5minutes from J3 of the M5) and it's available to pick up from my house, i'm not able to deliver or post it.. as you're all more than likely aware it'll be easier to move this if you have a trailer, however it would fit into a small van or maybe a hatchback car, my garage has an I-beam with a block&tackle vertical winch to help with loading it up
The engine: taken out of an automatic Senator in about 2006, it had ~110k on the clock at the time and was running well, it had the inlet system stripped off it to get it onto the stand and has been in my garage ever since, it hasn't been turned over so I have no way of knowing the condition, I'd suggest that it will need to be stripped down and rebuilt before use, or could just be a good source of spares?
Hopefully you'll see in the pictures what is there and what isn't but I do know that the engine ecu and the serpentine drive belt aren't there and neither is the flywheel (it's from an auto)
It does have the exhaust manifolds still attached, the pile of bits includes:
- spare rocker cover, trim panel and oil filler cap
- airflow meter (black cover is loose, did work as I used it for a week on my car while chasing down an ignition fault)
- aircon compressor pump and main hoses
- small radiator thing (I think it's the auto gearbox oil cooler?)
- inlet Y-piece, ICV, throttle body and main air inlet pipework
- inlet manifold
- vauxhall dual ram inlet cover plate
- injector rail (again, did work in 2006 as I swapped them into my car while fault finding)
- 1x small ecu type box (i think it's an auto gearbox ecu as it's definately not the engine ecu.. wrong size & shape)
- distributor, plugs, leads, starter, fan and water system are still on the engine.. possibly alternator also
