So I'm between dailies at the mo, wondering what to spend £1-2k on and my thoughts have swung to saving fuel. I drive 30 miles a day to work and back and could save a grand a year in fuel if I move to 45mpg Most 45mpg cars are dull but I've always had a hankering after a Suzuki Wagon R since playing Gran Turismo. So I have shopped a couple of ideas Stock - Mumsy / pensioner So thinking about Mini Estate Mini Traveller? I quite like the last one in a very silly way. Brown shag carpet, brown vinyl seat covers, high exposed gear stick, maybe brown plastics inside too. Wheels modified to take Mini trims and painted cream. Lowered. Tartan travel rug. Wicker hamper concealing bass tube... What thinks you?

Sunday Cup in Gran Turismo 1st place prize I believe? Lol. Anyway, back on track - I'd probably roll one of these. The yellow one looks epic.

I forgot how to retro...

Shame we never got the decent looking Wagon R over here, although the yellow one is a first gen version. We then got the horrible softened off Vauxhall Agila version, not the one with the crisp lines like most of the above are.

So I'm between dailies at the mo, wondering what to spend £1-2k on and my thoughts have swung to saving fuel. I drive 30 miles a day to work and back and could save a grand a year in fuel if I move to 45mpg For the same K car size, you could have a Daihatsu Move, albeit under a different name. Essentially the same car underneath as my Cuore, which is under 1 litre, yet sits happily at 85mph and returns 60MPG. £1500 should see you a 2002 version, and coz they are owned by grannies, the mileage should be under 50k. Don't be put off by the Perodua name, it's simply a rebadging, all the running gear is still Daihatsu. Oh, and you can do stuff like this to them...

I'm a big fan of suzukis so the wagon gets the thumbs up from me, I'm a big woody fan (oo err) too but can't help but think woodys need to be light colours, biege, yellow etc.

I think a Daewoo Matiz is a better bet than these Mind you, OP at 30 miles per day - needs MINIMUM of 1.3 litres.
