Looking for white-knuckle driving thrills? Look elsewhere. Looking for cheap, reliable, economical transport? Then this could be just what you're after. It's an L-reg 626 hatch with a 1.8-litre petrol engine; it runs perfectly well and I managed 40mpg on a run last week (high gearing helps - 60mph in top is 2,300rpm). It's a pleasant car to drive and has all the essential gadgets - PAS, C/L, four electric windows (well three at the moment as the driver's one has stopped working, not had time to find out why), CD player etc. It's in pretty good nick for its age - not spotless but still very tidy - and there's no rot that I've found. It's still got its original Mazda wheeltrims, too - on a car this age that's usually a sign it's been looked after. Interior is in good nick too.
Bad points - apart from the aforementioned electric window, not a lot really considering the car's 15 years old now. The fanbelt sometimes squeals for a few seconds after starting, but it's fine after that so never bothered to adjust it. All electrics work apart from the driver's window.
Any questions drop me a pm or reply to this thread.
Here's a pic (yes, I know it needs a wash):
