am I missing something here?? but what vintage does a vehicle have to be,to be classed as retro??? or is the word retro just being used to "some up" a modded car?? the reason I ask is(and I know I'm going to be flamed for this!!) that when I found this site it was full of per mid 90s cars with low key class mods done to them. the sort of thing i, and my mates use to do when we first started driving... I was so pleased to find a site full of quality cars with retro mods done to them... but now it would seem that the site is becoming full of not so retro rides?! no don't get me wrong some of these cars have had a hell of a lot of time and money spent on them, and there a credit to the owner/builder.. but is'nt there other forums out there for them to show the world there work? ? I also under stand that some of these more modern rides have a retro theme to them.. whether it be mods done by the owner or by the design team when pen was put to paper.. these I feel would class as a retro ride.. I know I might sound as if I got chip on my shoulder.. but got a slapped wrist the other night for viewing my opinion!! tell me is there other out there that feel the same as me?? cos if there is.. wouldn't it be nice to have a non retro ride section?!or is that what other forums are for! ;D

Have you read the Operandi? If not, may I suggest you do, as it will answer your questions. If you have, you really shouldn't be asking them in the first place!

I hope this doesn't descend into the normal route of everyone having a differing and varied view. Probably best off locked and forgotten about Edited because my image wasn't working! Probably a good thing ;D

Personally... I think you have a valid point Pete..... but...... I guess it's a case of 'he who pays the piper' cos bandwidth costs money so... they are entitled to make the rules.

I have been part of a suzuki based offroad forum for many years, and have all the fun of trying to sort out little probs!! but some time's it helps to know what others think??? if no one tells you.. how do you no if something's wrong??(not that I'm saying it is!!i love it here!) I would like to think that maybe I'm being constructive??? maybe!

I hope this doesn't descend into the type of thread where people tell other people what to think and do.
**Because that's 1000x more obnoxious than welcoming a newer member to the forum, and simply answering his questions in an upbeat way. Rather than getting all "inside baseball" and snarky.

Perhaps it's just not possible to sum it up because if there is a set of rules or definition the next cool thing to crop up will break those rules.
A bit Like those theoretical particals that exist everywhere at once until you try to look at them, but with a slight leaning towards old cars with wide wheels.

Sort of like trying to look directly at one of those little swimmy things in the corner of your eye, then finding that it's actually a subatomic graphical representation of a Minnow Fish carb.

For more information on what Retro Rides is about see our manifestoWe resist the urge to let ourselves be boxed into one discussion area with rules (no plastic, no 'modern', pre-1980, pre 85, pre90, > 25, 20, 10 whatever years) because it is a road to nothing. If you think there is too much newer stuff on the board, post something older and interesting. I'm curious as to where the not so retro rides are?? We've got a couple of them in readers rides on the front page... that BMW front ended Honda in the main forum... and... erm....... thats all I can see at the moment. Also I might just add Mid-90's not exactly 'retro' to most of us if you want to get into definition and restrictions, so I'd watch out that the high horse your on doesn't kick you in the .
