Mods, before you delete this, I'm relisting the car because Wez couldn't get it insured for a price he could afford.
Here's my Isuzu Piazza again with a slightly lower price. It's now £375 because the battery tray needs a replacement welding in. This was discovered after a more thorough inspection.
It's an '87, so pre HBL..
The good bits:
Engine (1994cc OHC Turbo - 4CZ1), is strong and willing, and has recently had a minor service comprising an oil, filter and plug change. Semi synthetic 10W 40 was used along with the correct NGK plugs as recommended by the IPTOC. A K&N air filter is fitted in the standard Hitachi airbox. The king and plug leads were recently changed for a set of Champion polyurethane set.
Standard boost, holds and pulls hard.
Clutch and gearbox strong. PAS drivebelt replaced and fluid topped up.
G80 spec, so that means a limited slip. LSD is working but would benefit from an oil change. You're welcome to the axle, but the car goes with it........you follow?
Nutjob eyebrow covers all working and correct.
Toad immobiliser and plip.
Aska HBL leather steering wheel fitted, original two spoke supplied along with a Bighorn HBL boss cover.
Supplied spares to fix the problems for the MOT.
2 x Oil Filter
Speedo drive cable
Brake pads
Superflex Polyurethane drop link bushes
Correctly turned Mk2 Astra drop links
New rocker cover gasket.
3 x dizzy caps.
4 X 100 PCD with +24 offset, so lots of wheel possibilities, will take up to 17" wheels without a problem.
The often troublesome electric windows work properly, having recently been overhauled by the IPTOC with a recon regulator and mech.
OEM spare that has never been used and Isuzu dealer wheelchocks.
The bad bits (there's a few)
Car has been declared SORN and has run out of MOT. V5 in my name
Exhaust is a right lash up, is blowing and will need replacing. IPTOC will be able to help with this.
Speedo drive is broken (cable supplied).
Brake pads down to the metal (pads supplied).
Horn doesn't work.
Throttle cable needs adjustment / replacement.
Leak from rocker cover gasket (new gasket supplied).
Interior is filthy but would respond to a wax vacuuming.
ARB bushes knackered, will need replacing. These can be obtained from the IPTOC.
Drop link bushes curse word, I have a new set that are the correct height (had some Mk 2 Astra links turned down).
Rear wiper doesn't work, heated window inop, this will be the satellites rather than the unit itself.
Arches (except NSF) are crusty and will need rubbing down. Driver's door has surface rust. Evidence of strut top welding for last MOT. Rest of shell solid enough. Bumper mounts rusted, surface rust on bonnet edge.
Rear spoiler is loose.
Is it good on fuel? No! It does about 22 to the gallon. It's a 2 litre turbo engine from the Eighties, what did you expect?
OS rear number plate light is buggered and the screws holding the lense in are seized solid.
Windscreen scraped but I have a spare that's interned with the IPTOC. In fact I have most of a HBL auto (but you can sod off having the front seats, I'm making them into swivel chairs) interior up in Abergele if you ever get stuck for bits, plus a box of seatbelts that are mint should the MOT person ever kick off about them.
Tyres are scabby, only Toyo and Falken do decent replacements. Rears are currently 205 \ 60 Federals, fronts are Dunlop \ Pirelli 195 \ 60s.
I'm not prepared to break the car for the engine or the rear axle. If it goes, it goes complete.
Car will have to be trailered away but will happily drive on or off it when I replace the kenked bit of fuel line that's stopping it from running.
Is currently near Stockport.
Sold as seen.
£375, Cash on Collection
Alpine stereo and Pioneer rear speakers not included.
I don't ever think it'll be mint again - you'd have to spend WAY more money than it's worth to do that. However, it may well suit as an unusual daily or a track and drift car (yeah, I did mention the dreaded 'D' word....)
PM me for more info if you're keen.
