Model: Mk1 Vx Cavalier Year: 1978 Mileage: 127000 Tax: Dec 2009 MOT: jan 2011 Location: Cambridge Price: 895 Additional Information: Ain't had this long at all - prize of 50p and a conker if anyone recognises it - but the original plan involving a Saab 900 turbo engine, and T5 box is going to be too tricky + time consuming plus I bought a 924S two weeks after and can't stop driving that, so the Cav is unused. But it is a real cracker. 3 owners, 127k miles, FSH in the original service book, very solid. Just been lowered and fitted with satin black MX5 alloys with excellent tyres, had the little bits of rust removed and painted and some satin black carefully applied in the right places. It now looks superb. It starts on the button hot or cold and runs faultlessly, warms up quickly and temp stays rock solid, brakes straight and true and steers fine. It only needed the carb cleaning out and tuning up plus new dizzy cap, points, rotor arm etc to get it spot on. Everything works except the interior light and the radio reception - but the super hi-fi auto-stop 70s tape deck is fine. It actually works best at this time of year when 75bhp is [just] enough to get the back end out and you can enjoy the two speed heater and intermittent wipers. I used it daily for a 40 mile commute for a couple of weeks and it performed faultlessly - it's an ideal daily. Cos I've no idea what it's worth I've slung it on the bay through work, but if someone here fancies it then make me an offer. Sam 07956 thirty sixty thirty-four

Whats the chassis rails like and the inner wings? Is that the 2.0? These are loads more solid than the mantas, vauxhall seemed to get hold of steel that dident rust away within 20 mins. Just what ive being looking for but wouldent be able to offer what your asking this close to xmas.

All fine. From memory I think there's one patch (maybe 2) on a chassis rail, otherwise original and solid, it was up in the air on the chassis rails to do the lowering and didn't collapse The NS inner wing is very nice, the OS has had a couple of patches, but doesn't appear to need anything now. Sorry - it's the 1.6. Forget presents this year, what the family needs is a yellow Cav Pms replied to.

Thats alright, it is an aquired taste, still got the t25 but would need quite a bit of money my way, just spent a fortune on it, full service, wheel bearing, brake pads, clutch and slave cylinder, all wear and tear stuff. Just wented to get it all tippidy top, cost a bit but the peace of mind is more than worth it lol

eBay auction is here.99% of bidding occurs in the last 2 minutes of most auctions. I regard it now as a 7 day preview and a 2 minute live auction.

Predictably, the ebay buyer has come to nothing, so she's back up for grabs.
Just passed an MoT needing just a side light bulb and one rear wheel cylinder - no advisories - so has 12 months' test.
PXs and swaps I fancy include :
Another car - WHY? 80s/90s car stereos 16" or bigger 5 stud Porsche wheels (5x130 I think) and generally any other bits for Porsches A smallish leather sofa (you never know...) Nudie mags
