A cutting disc on a Dremel is ideal for that job, much finer disc.

i have been cutting armoured lecky cable recently, I put cable over a block of wood, I put a strong knife on the cut line and smack it down with summat weighty good clean cut which may work on your stuff

When we do these at work, as Bruce sias just give it a good sharp chissel.
The alternative we use is a decent sharp set of side cutters and they always seem to do the trick. ;D

Bolt cutters or tin snips? No melting but not sure how neat the cut would end up..

When I did the door seals on mine earlier in the year, I used a sharp pair of sidecutters and a stanley blade to tidy. All the edges are neat, I even managed to mitre them to 45degs
