Ive scored a cheap set of leather seats for the "new" Volvo 940 ive bought, problem is the seats are grey and the rest of the Volvos interior is Black.
Ive seen leathercare products that claim to dye leather pretty much any colour you like but has anyone got any experience of them? I don't want to even try dying the trim if theres a good chance it will all go wrong or the colouring wears away with time.
Any advice muchly appreciated!

I don't have experience of using it I'm afraid but have seen enough people talk about it to presume it must be worth a go. Going from grey to black is probably one of the easiest changes I reckon. Like with all these things, the quality will be brand specific, try and google to find some feedback. If it 1st doesn't work, you can just try again with a different brand.....Go for it

I'm sure I remember reading how someone successfully changed their grey leather seats from a rover 800 to black using shoe polish. Think it might have been on that yellow ST Princess that was in RetroCars a few years ago. Good excuse for me to dig through some old issues...

a mate recoloured some leather headrests for a P6 Rover using Vinylkote. Worked really well. Seriously, they looked like new and the perfect colour (the P6 OC used to have it matched)
Your problem is going from black to a light colour really, but these headrests were black and turned out tan and they looked the business. They wore well too.
I had a P5B interior which had been done previously by someone with one of these paint on type products and it flaked when it was used a lot or cleaned with proper cleaner.
I'm not sure if the Vinylkote brand is still available though?

Another vote for the furniture clinic stuff.. dyed my mums leather sofa from cream to brown with it and worked well.. pretty pricey though, mind you doubt you'd need anywhere near as much as me! lmao

I asked the same thing on P..Heads a couple of months ago and got the following response:
"Contact Judy at LTT Solutions, or (Craig/Greg?) at Funiture Clinic - they'll be able to sort you out with what you need, etc."
That's for dyeing one panel of my 205 Roland Garros seat from beige to white.
