Woah, nice one Barrett! I like seeing stuff like that. Excellent!
Dieselweasel - the screen is same as a Herald / Vitesse. I'm hoping that I won't need to take out the screen to weld the A-pillars but I may need to.

I continue to enjoy reading this build thread, even if I don't contribute much. Great to see an unusual car getting so much attention and affection.
I can't help but think that the pearlescent red and the pale blue (the recurrent colours) you've used would go very, very well together. All you need to do is find which colours to put where and in what quantity. I wonder also if it's possible to get a chrome trim to run the whole length of the car instead of just on the door, I expect it would help visually improve that expanse of the flanks a little.

Front screen is standard Herald Vitesse item so very easy to get hold of if you crack it, the later 2.0 euipe models have a diffrent screen but not these

Apologies for the hugely shonky photochop.. but roof chop? something about the lines has never worked for me on these and i finally worked out what it was, might just be me but a few inches of the roofline makes it look really sleek and sporty...

Agreed, some out of the roof improves things... as would early Cortina rear lights instead of the 6 standard lights. These things have so much custom potential, but it'd all be a lot of work.

Good work 10mpg that looks tons better!
No we just gotta persuade BB to take an angle grinder to his only running, working car! :-)

Until he puts the roof back on after chopping it off, it's a convertible/roadster, so it can still run and work he just gets a bit wet when it rains

This car has been on my mind - I've not driven it or done any work on it for a fair few weeks. I feel a little bad about that but I just haven't had the time lately - I've started a new job and it's taking up all of my time at the moment, although I really want it done and painted ready for the Gathering so I'd better pull my finger out! ;D
I miss driving it although it's going to be quite a culture shock after driving the Golf for a while!

It's true, life has gotten very busy lately and between my new job and getting distracted with new projects I've not had time to finish the Bond! It's been moved to its new home for the winter where I can get the doors off, do the welding and sort the paint out!
It's still running really nicely and the drive was really enjoyable! It's going to get done soon, honest! ;D

UPDATES ARE DEMANDED! I read you may have painted the car...AND NOT SHOWN US!
This is simply unacceptable. Fix it.

I think we are still in the "life getting in the way" phase. Plus the track day Mercedes project...

As it stands, the Bond is closest to the road of all my projects, so it should be getting painted as soon as the weather gets warmer... should... I miss this daft car, but it'll be back soon, honest!

Cripes, seeing this bumped back to page one has given me quite the chubby! Maybe not the actual update I was hoping to see, but nice to know it's not been totally forgotten...

Aye! Was just thinking about it actually. The more time that passes since I saved it, the easier it becomes to forget the ridiculously dreadful economics of the situation. Cost me a bleedin' fortune, but must have been worth it as it still makes me grin.
