I've had no time to do this any earlier so here we are in the closing hour of 2009 and I'm sat in front of the computer uploading some photos ;D
I've been lucky to see some awesome cars and racing this year, with some new events under my belt. Here's to more new stuff in '10
The automotive year started (as '10 will) on 1st January
Before spring the NSRA swapmeet...
and Race Retro also came and went.
The beginning of April saw the first trip to Goodwood for the Family Favourites day.
Drive it day was probably next up in April and we went on a run around Bedfordshire partly organised by Andy Westcott standing on the right here.
That run around Beds ended at the Stondon motor museum.
Andy was tragically killed by a drunk driver while piloting his Mini to a Mini Anniversary meet later in the year. A sad loss indeed.
We happened across this automotive street party in the centre of London in mid May,
there was a Hot Rod meet on the South coast we trundled down to...
and at the end of May the Enfield Pageant had some dry weather at last.
Seeing this there kinda resulted in slightly mad series of road trips to Chesterfield over the following month...
I'm pretty sure May also saw a visit to Croxley Green
Not much happening in June it would seem but there was the Classic Show at Knebworth.
The first weekend in July saw the biggy though. Festival of Speed. Just Awesome.
My car of the year:
One week later was the Retro Show at Santa Pod.
Then I waved off a madman in an Imp.
The NSRA Supernationals is always on the list...
as is Classics on the COmmon at Harpenden.
A new one for this year was the VSCC meet at Prescott. I don't know how I'm going to manage to fit so many "must dfo" events in soon!
Later in August there was some show at Sparkford.
Then all went quiet. Didn't get to anything for nearly two months (other than the Ace Cafe which doesn't count) but managed to wangle our way in to the NEC for the big show. Not been in years and it was great!
Finally had a wintery and wet blast down to Goodwood for the last Breakfast club of the year in December.
I've left out loads. I've actually got 32 Folders of separate events on the computer so thats more than one a fortnight on average. Not as many as the Speedman but here's to another good year
(Phew! 5 minutes to go!)
