Easy you guys say? I wish LOL.
Basically I fitted the Britpart ignition kit to my MGB as the points on it before were very past it. Problem is that the car advances at 15 degrees before TDC and never changes. I then took the top of the dizzy off and gave the springs a clean, but I'm not sure it was enough.
Either way the dizzy needs looking into but I cannot get the stupid thing out. I've shoved a screwdriver behind in and tried forcing it out (the rather tough screwdriver (I've used it to pop balljoints out etc.) started to bend)). I've also tugged on it for England with the whole car shaking and again it refuses to come out.
At the moment the clamp is loose and despite running the car for 10 minutes it still won't bloody come out!
I'm all out of ideas on what to do! What do you guys suggest? Bear in mind the MGB dizzy isn't the easiest thing in the world to get to but probably also not the hardest either.
As for living with it, that may not be possible. My carbs need adjusting (they are hideously unbalanced), and of course if the timing is out, then doing that is pointless, except the car is a '79 hence it currently stands zero chance of passing emmisions as of this moment probably (that's if it could idle without the assistance of the choke...).
