Right, as I put in the advert I've never been 100% sure on the alternator as the battery seemed to run down a couple of times on long drives at night (dashboard lights dimmed, wiper slowed down, etc..) although the battery light never actually came on (light does work!).. I fitted a brand new, fully charged battery (borrowed from Granny) & it made no difference so as I'm due to take a trip down to Cornwall next week I've fitted a brand new Bosch alternator, just for my own peace of mind as much as anything.. These aren't cheap & I hadn't initially planned to include it in the price but hey ho Since I did it the ASD light has come on (nothing to do with the alt / battery) so I checked the fault code (earth #5 pin in the diagnostic port & count how many times the light flashes) and it tells me there's no revolution signal from the front left wheel It'd never done it before so I must've dislodged a wire or something while rolling around underneath - I'll have a fiddle at the weekend! This doesn't affect how the car drives at all, in fact I drove to North London & back in the dark the other evening (110 miles ish) & it didn't miss a beat so my confidence is now 100%! (note: if you're worried about not having enough room in a saloon I fitted in a full drum kit + the singer from my band & some guitars & other curse word, no worries! ) Thanks for reading ;D HC.

Righto, we're back from Cornwall - a good time was had & the Benz covered 860+ miles without missing a beat ;D Unfortunately it's now caked in mud & has an exhaust leak (too low for Dartmoor yo!) - will try to address both if I get the chance at the weekend.. Pic from the RR Brean Sands Beach Party today:

BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMP! I spent yesterday putting Granny back together so she's nearly ready for an MoT - that means this has GOT TO GO so I've got money to MoT, tax & insure Granny before our new project arrives.. I would happily do deals on anything in my For Sale / Wanted add ( here) and would maybe consider P/X against a cheap retro daily (as long as it's got long t&t) Thanks! HC.
