Righto - I've seen something I really really want but don't have any spare money or space for another car so this has got to go first. Shame but hey-ho..
It was in for it's MoT this morning an failed on a small rust hole on 1 outer sill - this will be fixed this week & the re-test is booked for Friday. Therefore it comes with a full 12 month MoT!
Tax is up this month - I would say I can re-tax at your expense but it has just come to my attention that I never received the V5 - I have contacted the guy I bought it off to confirm he sent it off so pending that a full receipt will be provided so you can send off for one. Obviously if it doesn't sell soon I'll have to send off myself. V5 applied for & car now taxed for 6 months
Most of the below is shamelessly stolen from the for-sale add I bought the car from as it was so well written it seems stupid for me to write it all again - I've updated bits & bobs, that have changed since:
1992 K Registered Mercedes 190e 2.6
Midnight blue
M103 2.6 engine 166BHP
Custom K&N induction kit
Manual gearbox
ASD (LSD) differential, with between 30 and 100% lockup under 30mph and a constant 30% above that - replacement 190e 2.5-16v ASD differential fitted that works perfectly, locks up fine when traction is lost and does not whine
Stainless steel Remus exhaust - sounds awesome!
70l Fuel tank
Hella front spoiler (supplied by Mercedes dealership) with Hella driving lights fitted
AMG rear spoiler
Fuchs Mercedes W211 forged wheels (6kg each) 7.5x16 ET42 - painted satin black
Front grille painted satin black - replaced last week as original (in pics) had a few cracks
Light smoked rear lights
LHD market passenger side rear view mirror fitted
Clear front and side indicators
Light grey check cloth interior with both front and rear armrests (perfect condition, with front seats and armrest currently protected with genuine Mercedes covers)
Electric tilt and slide sunroof
Electric front and rear windows
Air conditioning
Period leather Italovanti steering wheel (as supplied in AMG models)
Hands free integrated 80's style Nokia car phone (works with O2 PAYG sim card) retro awesomes
Period Alpine radio cassette with 6 cd changer in the boot, with updated VIBE speakers hidden under original Alpine speaker grilles - sounds great!
Included in the history are the original bill of sale and service history from the majority of its ownership.
Previous owner (07-09) carried out the following work:
New passenger side wing and bonnet (not crash repair)
New windscreen
Replaced rear wheel bearings
Replaced rear disks and pads
Replaced front pads
Replacement fuel distributor, cold start valve, throttle body, IACV etc
HT leads, spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor arm, oil filter, O2 sensor, gearbox and diff oil, etc.
Coil
Windscreen scuttle cover
OVP relay
Replaced the front ARB bushes, track rods and ends
Fitted lowering springs (MAD from Holland) - please note this car is pretty LOW! Speed bumps need to be taken at 5mph!
New spring pads and gearbox mount
I have just done the front pads
The mileage is currently approx 290k miles, it returns 25mpg on average and uses less than 500ml oil over 1000 miles. It does not overheat, or lose any coolant from the head or tank. I have thoroughly enjoyed owning and driving this car and would be happy to keep it if I had the money & space. If it doesn't sell quickly then I guess I'll keep it and the car I've got my heart set on will have to wait for another day..
Items to note: 50p sized area of surface rust on trailing edge of rear wheel arch.
Air conditioning currently does not work, I have bought the condenser and fan in preparation for repairing this (included in sale).
Also I was concerned the alternator was getting tired as the battery seemed to run down a bit when driving with all the electrics on (heated screen, etc..) and the battery tested as fine but it has been fine for ages now so is most likely ok. I bought an alternator just in case (£££!) which the buyer can have first refusal on. EDIT: brend new Bosch alternater now fitted & working perfectly
There are now no rust issues to worry about (see new MoT) but a few surface marks on the bodywork consistent with age & mileage - these have all been treated with rust killer but would need cleaning back & touching in if that's your bag
On with the photos:
* note the indoor pics show the wrong wheels *
Right, there we have it, hope you like (/want) - I think £1250 is fair considering how much trouble you'd have finding another (especially one so honest) and what you'd have to pay for a Cosworth model which is only slightly better. It's certainly more than it stands me at after 6months and it now wants for nothing
I have some other possible wheel options (see my sig) that the buyer can have special dibs on
Any questions?
HC.
