all back together. i had to cut and shut the front LCA's to move the wheel in a bit. it was rubbing a bit before and with making the front wheels wider I've effectively moved the tyre out by about 6mm so i pulled the whole lot back in by 15mm. i plated the joint in this fashion to spread the stress points. probably not necessary but you know how i am. i also plated the bottom of the arm so its not open along the bottom anymore. they are all painted and back in the car. i will have to crack test them for cert but i wanted to make sure 15mm was going to be enough so I've put it all back together and ill sort the crack testing out when i re-cert it (with the single turbo conversion). Untitled by sheepers-ra28, on Flickr i am super curse word at taking a picture that captures what I'm trying to convey so this is the best i could do. in all honesty it looks better in person. the tires on the back are 205's but it really needs 225's to get it looking right. the tires on the back are pretty fuckked so ill have to figure out some way of wearing them out (suggestions welcome) then ill chuck some 225's on the back. Untitled by sheepers-ra28, on Flickr Untitled by sheepers-ra28, on Flickr Untitled by sheepers-ra28, on Flickr so, what next? ill probably make a sub box for this thing tomorrow and then i dunno. probably should start saving for a turbo……...

this is something i should have done years ago. Untitled by sheepers-ra28, on Flickr new turbo is a HyperGear version of a TD06. the plan is to have good response and lots of torque. waste gate is a tial 44mm and the manifold will be a Sinco Customs made item. i looked at making one myself but Sinco comes highly recommended and the price is 1000 odd bucks. the pipes alone for me to make one were around the 400$ mark so i thought curse word that, let Sinco make me one in two weeks. the factory injectors are only good for high 200RWKWs so I'm putting some 600cc injectors in it at the same time. I'm more interested in throttle response and torque that a big number so it will be tuned for that. Untitled by sheepers-ra28, on Flickr this is the new turbo installed, just have to connect the doort valves and its go. Untitled by sheepers-ra28, on Flickr

manifold acquired. many thanks to Mike at Sinco customs for making this for me in a hurry. all up this setup weighs 11Kg's less than the factory twins. Untitled by sheepers-ra28, on Flickr now i goes to connect all the holes to something.

down pipe is finished now it just needs the V band clamp ring welding on the other end. ill also put a V band joint on the wastegate pipe. the top part of the wastegate pipe is done as well. Untitled by sheepers-ra28, on Flickr it was well tricky getting in the narrow gap at the top. Untitled by sheepers-ra28, on Flickr

zorst is now all tacked in place and just needs finish welding. I've made it as close to the floor as i dare and ill be surprised if it doesn't hit anything because its real close but its easier to space it down latter if i need to but very hard to space it up. it goes under the diff just in case your wondering. zorst is all welded. time to install new fuel rail with 600cc top feed injectors. didn't have any fittings that would adapt the toyota fuel pressure reg and the banjo outlet to the new fuel rail. so i cut the ends off the old fuel rail and welded then to the AN fittings that were supplied with the rail. job done. i have been accused of not doing enough project updates and frankly, its true. so, manifold, down pipe turbo exhaust housing and wastegate pipe have been HPC coated in the superheat stuff. I've wrapped the down pipe with heat wrap to try and stop my heater horse from melting. all the pipes are connected and its all in for permanent. the oil and water feed/returns are done. the blow off valve is installed. what else? I've started to plumb the wastegate hoses and I've started the intercooler pipe. i need an aluminum pipe and i hope i can get one tomorrow but time will tell. then its start time. Brendon is going to give me a hand and we'll get it running and do a basic road tune so i can drive it hand make sure all the fluids stay were they should then its dyno time. its getting exciting now. Brendan did a road tune for this yesterday so it going now. its fast. faster than its ever been and man does it boost quick. its a whole different car to drive now. the road tune is pretty safe and its only tuned to 15psi. in a couple of weeks its going on the dyno to tune it up to about 20psi and get it making some serious power. first and second gear are pretty much useless now, it just hits boost and spins the wheels, traction is something I'm going to have to learn how to balance. in other news the shops are open again so i cna buy bits to fix some of the things i just smashed together to get it going. i still need to sort out an air filter and cold air intake, oil catch can and a little filter for the idle speed control valve. but something i have been able to do is fix that nasty bit of pipe i had coming off the turbo wit a decent bit of aluminium pipe, thusly, Untitled by sheepers-ra28, on Flickr got a bunch of little things to do before dyno but all should be ready without to much hassle. be interesting to see what power it makes. its already leagues ahead of where it was so we shall see.

today was dyno day. after a fairly long session with lots of little things going wrong (one of which being me wiring the radiator fan the wrong way around so it was fighting the fans in the dyno room and causing the thing to overheat) we finally got to the end of the tune at 15PSI and made 250RWKW. then it was time to turn it up a bit and see what it would do. and that where it started running out of fuel. so to cut a long story short the fuel delivery line is causing a restriction somewhere, ether between the tank and the pump, or between the pump and the fuel rail. the other thing that has also happened is that its now getting fuel surge under acceleration. it didn't do it at any time during the road tune and at no time during the week ive been driving it around. not once did it fuel surge, until this morning on the way to the dyno and then again every time since. cool. so now I'm going to revamp the entire fuel circuit and install a surge tank. then it can go back on the dyno. and just to finalise the day i burnt my arm real bad removing one of the knock sensors from the motor after the tuning was finished. now on to the pluses, man is it responsive, it feels so crisp and agile. it has lots of pull and it pulls from real low down and just keeps pulling all the way until the horizon goes blurry. and the way it delivers that 250 is pretty impressive. looking forward to pushing this further. also, have got a bit more done on the fuel system today. tank out and 12mm feed line installed, and tank back it. so its now 12mm from the tank to the primary pump, the from the primary its 10mm to the surge tank. the surge tank feed to the main pump is 12mm too. the other things i did today involve trying to make a tank vent system that will work without dumping the entire contents of the fuel tank on the ground (harder than it sounds) and ran all the lines from the tank and the returns. basically everything in the end is done and all i need to do now is run a new hard line from back to front. ill use the old feed (10mm) for the return. sounds easy. but it wasn't. it was one of those days where everything fought me. the only picture i have from todays efforts is pretty curse word too......... Have we caught up, or can you post us another update and tell us how it turned out? 10/10 for determination, I would have thrown the towel in after that first accident.

na thats about where I'm at right now. the plan is to finish the fuel system and then go back to the dyno to tune it up to 22oddPSI. should make somewhere in the early 300RWKWs

tonight i got the steel 12mm line run. i was kind of dreading it because 12mm steel tube is not easy to bend. but anywho its done. it fits fairly well. ill tidy it up next time i have the drive train out ( i hope that's ages from now) but basically it runs from back to front over the draiveshaft without any kinks in it. i need a couple of bits which ill get tomorrow and i should have it running tomorrow night. the only picture i have that looks ok is the pump and filter bit complete with fittings that cost too much.
