fuel system finished. so far it doesn't leak much. the first time i pressurised the system it had a hole in the surge tank. so i welded the hole up and at the same time welded some AN fittings on the top to make it all a bit more professional. finished and leak free. also painted it black. Untitled by sheepers-ra28, on Flickr dyno is booked for the thursday the 26th so we can add a bit more poost and see what happens.

Love it. Nice work. I'm in the UK and have a ta22 that was in australia until 2008. Seems the climate good for preserving old J steel isnt so kind on dashboard though. Id ask if you may be able to find a dash ,but I'm more likely to find one on one of the rotten celica projects that turn up here periodicly.
Personally,I prefer the blue one. I'm not as keen on the liftbacks for some reason.

I've missed a few updates from here but in brief, someone attempted to steal it. failed but broke gearbox and a piston without getting out of the driveway insurance payout resulting in me buying a 2JZ short block from toyota along with a brand new R154. putting a few other good bits on it while I'm at it. so anyway this is where I'm up to, much curse word around waiting for parts and changing my mind on things has resulted in it still not going yet. however the motor is in the car for permanent (this time round) and the only major bit I'm missing at this point is the intake manifold. so, whats been done? modify and strengthen the gearbox crossmember mount to bring it up to current cert regs head has been hardness tested, cleaned and reassembled with new stem seals. valves re-seated and stage 2 BC cams fitted. powerhouse racing pulley kit ATI harmonic balancer titan adjustable cam gears gates blue cam belt NZ EFI ultra high output coils with built in igniters other things. the block came with no engine number so i thought id better put one on it so i can identify it if i need to for whatever reason. 2016-07-13_05-58-18 by sheepers, on Flickr 2016-07-13_08-41-27 by sheepers, on Flickr 2016-07-13_08-43-57 by sheepers, on Flickr 2016-07-13_08-44-10 by sheepers, on Flickr

Theft. I believe it is a highly underrated crime. I would have no - zero - none - hesitation in shooting a car thief intending to kill. I know this is at odds with my general outlook on life and the human condition. But... I have huge emotional attachment to my vehicles. Not only would I shoot to kill - I would probably kick the curse word out of the lifeless body. Sorry if that offends. Cannot help being a product of the road generation that is at the core of my being.
Nothing else makes me hate like this.
Well done for your seemingly calm acceptance of such an invasion of personal rights.
Your car is an incarnation of perfection and an extension of your values. Great respect.

it goes!!! done all of about 11Ks in it but it definitely feels different, like way more torque, WAY more. i think one of the cam seals is leaking so ill chuck a new one in it tomorrow and i don't like the clutch master (its really light and has to much travel) so ill chuck the next size up on it tomorrow as well. then, drive it. yay indeed. 2016-08-05_04-31-30 by sheepers, on Flickr

This thing is cooooool. Saw a dented one yesterday The wife of the guy driving it put it in to a wall. Drivers side wing was all buckled. Was good to read this all in one go as I got to see it evolve with no patience involved! A question though. Here in Australia, the engine number is tied to car when you get it registered. I imagine something similar happens in New Zealand as well. So does that mean that your rego papers will have the engine number 'NO SH1T' on them?

great work as usual, you must be itching to put the foot down, what do you hope to make powerwise?

thanks man. yea I'm pretty keen to give it the jandles but that might be a couple of weeks away yet..
and as for power, I'm not really chasing a power number. id like the whole graph to move to the left a fair bit and id like to see the low end torque rise a decent amount. in theory it should make high 300s but I'm more interested in the torque.
