Hi any ideas what I can use to replace knackered sound deadening on the cheap ? My daily bluey had been letting in water, but seems now ok, so the interior is going back in. Needs to be cheap as I'm seriously bored of the thing so it's either getting fragged or sold in the next couple of months.
Granted the most likely buyer will be pulling the interior out and fitting a scaffold roll-cage and dulux paintjob but I may as well stuff the interior in while I use it.

Expanding foam/roof flashing and believe it or not under-seal.

I've used a roll of the foil coated rubber undersheet designed for use under laminate flooring - was cheap 'cause I had it left over when I did the lounge floor . . .

Expanding foam FTW had a screwdriver ratting around above the roof of my work transit could not get to it to remove it so used a can of foam. Had to get the roof lining back up sharpish before it would not fit screw driver encased in foam no rattle its a lease van and going back soon I always wonder weather it will ever be discovered and fry someones brain wondering why.

Never tried it and may be urban myth but isn't roofing felt supposed to work? Unfortunately this peels off in hot weather so not suitable for vertical surfaces. OK for use on the floor inside or in the boot floor though.

again fine for floors (so long as it follows the contours) but not ideal for inside doors, quarters, etc.

I used some special waterproofing paint on my garage roof that stuck like s##t to a blanket, it dries to a rubbery finish. It might do the job and I brought it at B&Q so its cheep.

I've used old carpet tiles cut to shape under the carpet - the black rubber-bitumen backed things. Might be a fire hazard though coompared to the proper stuff

I got some overpriced flashing tape from B&Q as I had left it to the last minute. Seems to work very well, despite running out and only doing half the floorpan d'oh.

Lead flashing is absolutely hopeless. I had it in the Benz - it weighs a ton, is a terrible rust catcher and isn't that much cheaper than Dynamat.
Autoleads do a cheap Dynamat equivalent, as it goes.
