I want to get a sunstrip for my AX cos having the visor down leaves me about 6 inches of winsceen, ad that's only if I duck. I fancy this which I knocked up: Too much? Should I go for one colour instead? Any other ideas?

Too much? Any other ideas? Sunstrip FAIL! Only one kind you can have and get away with: DO IT!

I reckon you should go for the old Ford "MOTORSPORT" sunstrip - that never seems to go out of fashion (even on non-Fords).

Now I would, but by some fluke my new number plates have my girlfriend's initials and the first of mine. Only the last letter is wrong. One in 12000 chance I reconned, unless you count where they've got to in the dishing out of combos.

I'm trying to avoid the 'sport' route with whatever I do on this car. It would make the little 1L motor feel nervous and useless. By the same reasonning, I won't be putting 'TOW' stickers on the bumpers cos I don't want to tempt fate!
I'm going for a selection of real or fake factory-available mods. I've got some citroen logo'd mudflaps to go on too.

I just wonder where they're getting them from nowadays. I'm sure they came from the MK3 Escort!

I just wonder where they're getting them from nowadays. I'm sure they came from the MK3 Escort! Halfords still sell them. Ironic really that nothing says "Motorsport" less than a sunstrip that says "Motorsport". I'd go for one that says "RACING CAR", it would be at least as convincing... In reply to the original question: I actually quite like it. I like anything with black and white checks though, I used to be in a Ska band...

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

I like the first mock up,nice and retro in a checkered kind of way.. Its not overly motorsport either, wouldn't look out of place.
Its a whole lot better than the carp in Halfords.

;D I wouldn't know Norm, I was 5 years old when the '90s dawned on us. (And it was a ska-punk band really. Everyone was in one of them around 2002 )

A matt/satin black strip accross the top of the windscreen would look ok. Or maybe a tourquoise translucent that is the same sort of colour as the car.
