Grabbing a seat in the grandstand over looking Brooklands and Luffield for the final hoorah we were in the dry at last and had the ideal viewing point for the end of the straight and round the tight turns to finish. The race was sadly red flagged after one of the Morgans lost it and clouted the barriers luckily the only damage being to body work and pride. i787.photobucket.com/albums/yy156/stevearchive1/vsccpomeroy/pomeroy238.jpg[/img]With the day over the teams packed up and we headed South, that’s two VSCC events I’ve been to this year, both completely different, but both showing that it doesn’t matter how old the car, you can still have lots of fun behind the wheel. Huge thanks to Paul for the opportunity to go along, it was a proper retro dayout ;D The rest of the snaps are here

lol, the weather was fine all morning, and into the first race, then it just got wetter all the time. Rain makes any car look good, my old Golf looked great in the wet

Nice Phots
Didnt go this year as the car i usually mechanic for isn't in the country!
Looks like it was the usual eclectic mix there, never a boring day! though the reputation of Silverstone as the coldest windiest wettest track in Britain doesn't seem to have suffered through your photos!

Cheers for the comments chaps ;D Grizz, of course you can, I'm planning to use one for my wallpaper, just can't decide which one! I've just had an email from the mate of the Lambos owner, he had the 911 with red/blue stripes.... ....balls of steel indeed I'm waiting for Paul to appear with some more snaps and the entry list and results from the VSCC site

Great to see the larger versions of your pics! I'm waiting for Paul to appear with some more snaps and the entry list and results from the VSCC site Probably later in the week for my pics, as am rushed off my feet at the moment. However I've found the entry list & have just emailed that to you No official results yet, although apparently the Volvo estate was 2nd or third over the line in the second race, with the Ford Galaxy 1.9TD in 4th or 5th.

iirc though it's not done on actual chronological placing, the officials predict what your car 'should do' in the brake test, the circuit run and something else i've forgotten, and how close you are to that prediction dictates how you actually place...
I could be wrong though, I've always had my head buried to deep in an engine or a burger to take to much notice of the rules

I could be wrong though, I've always had my head buried to deep in an engine or a burger to take to much notice of the rules It is indeed something like that - the formula also includes things like age, engine capacity and the dimension from the pedal box to the rear axle. With regards to the 'race', I think that there's a calculation regarding how many laps are required for each car too. I've heard it described that a 2.0 with a long wheelbase & as old as possible plays the formula rather well.
