Based on the crappage scheme, this car will now be chopped in on a new Suzuki Alto (I am not necessarily in agreement) Are these VW alloys that are on it worth saving, or worth any money ?? I have only seen them about twice on VW's in the past. Would they be worth much to sell on , or is it just novelty value ??

They look like scirocco wheels to me.. (I'm not a vw expert) but I'd say get some steels with almost knackered tyres on it before it goes. Won't make a difference to the trade in price, and 4x100 alloys are always worth something.

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in

They're Mk1 Golf GTI wheels (amongst others) - I think people call them "Tarantula" alloys.

Mk1 GTi 9 spokes rarely make much money, I doubt they'd make enough to cover the amount of fannying around you'd need to do to swap them over!

unless you have a set of steels with some tyres fitted i wouldnt bother. watched a set (and bid on) that were on ebay and they only fetched £36. I never seen then sell for much more tbh. thing is, they arent very popular, you'd maybe get £80 if they were shod with some tyres which had decent tread

Looks like they're not worth much financially, but if it was me, I'd whip them off for 'the pile' because they'll be more useful than some Vaux steels (assuming you still have them)

I cant be arsed to wrestle an 18 year old girl for a set of alloys. Sure we will find a nice set of wheels when we find a car for Tom.

Not worth a great deal , i bought a set recently for 40quid with no curbing... had good tyres too... sold em on for same price as they didnt suit the polo.... I had a set on flannelracing's old mk1 jetta i bought too but they looked spot on... realy one of those wheels that just seems to suita certain type of car...

I cant be arsed to wrestle an 18 year old girl for a set of alloys. really? most people would jump at the chance. just find what yard they end up in and give them the £50 for alloy scrap.
